Not sure if this applies to Windows 10, but have you looked into this?
Control panel->Power options and on the left side choices, click "Change what the power buttons do". On the new window, scroll down to "Shutdown settings" and you'll see an option "Turn on fast startup (recommended)". Uncheck this option and save changes. The next time you start windows, everything should starts as it is supposed to.
Remember that you will need to set the Folding Client to start with Windows and you will need to setup Auto Logon for that to work.
Or turn off logon altogether. Never did look at this on my 10 Rigs.
Funny that so many (recommended) Settings in Windows 10 are causing so many issues.
Maybe they should have said (Recommended for Mobile Devices) or change it altogether to Default.
My last test that I had updates that need a restart I had it set to the max 3 days and the computer restarted and Forced the Folding Client and the BOINC Client to crash as though the Power Plug was pulled.
I had to remove the Folding Client and reinstall it to get it back working, the BOINC Client only lost in work task.
So now I stop all projects on Tuesday Afternoon and run Windows Updates and restart the computer.
I am so glad that I do NOT have to do this on my Windows 7&8 Computers.
My Windows 8 is really Server 2012R2 based aliened with Windows 8.1
