it was a fun game.  First time doing it for me.  It did help stress test my rig a bit to be able to run my system at near 100% for 11+days.  I'm generally one that turns the computer off at night (more to save on the power bill than anything).  And i'm so glad Florida's weather was able to be compliant.  Finally got a window fan today and my room is a crispy 60 degrees instead of 80 ...hehe.   Good luck to everyone on the prize draws.  Glad we didn't break stanford's servers until the end ^_^.

11/12/16
  • Congratulations to Central, Pacific and Other Time Zones for completing the 2016 Time Zone Challenge!
  • All teams have now completed the 2016 Time Zone Challenge and the contest has officially come to an end
  • Please make your prize selections in the thread posted by Punchy (see the announcement from 11/11) - in order to receive a prize you must select your preferred prizes
  • Everyone who is able is both welcome and encouraged to continue folding with us through the end of the month as we try to set a new monthly points record!
    • 5 billion should be relatively easy to achieve with the big numbers we've put up at the start of the month
    • 6 billion might be a bit of a stretch given that bucks folders will begin falling off soon and some of our crunchers are going to turn their efforts to a PG challenge soon
    • This team has never ceased to amaze me in what it can accomplish, so I certainly wouldn't rule anything out...
  • Thanks to all those who generously donated individual prizes or contributed to the GPU pool
    • I would love to name you all individually, but given the magnitude of generosity on this team there are simply too many people to thank
  • Thanks to drougnor for providing the stats - this go round proved a little more challenging than some others, but you pulled through in pimpin style as always
  • Thanks to DutchForce for collecting the donations for the GPU Pool - no one is more qualified nor could have done a better job handling it
  • Thanks to DutchForce notfordman and HK-Steve for helping out behind the scenes and helping this contest one of our most successful
  • Thanks to Punchy for once again helping out with the prize selection - its quicker, more exciting, and exponentially easier for everyone than doing it manually
  • Most importantly thank you to everyone that folded in this contest!  Whether it was a few points as you are able or a steady blast of points that carried your team, without you guys we have nothing but a bunch of empty web pages we're staring at...best folding team in the world!

Added a new page: https://sites.google.com/...zonechallenge/6billion

If we keep putting up big numbers, we might be able to get the required PPD down low enough to make it (given the inevitable fall off of bucks folders and crunchers turning to PG).

As always you're encouraged to contribute what you are able and comfortable contributing and we don't want anyone extending beyond their means.  (This is not a part of the official contest)

Whether we make it or not lets set a record this month!

At a time when the nation seems so divided, it's promising to see that we can still come together as one to help towards a better cause. Whether playing a major or minor role in this contest, there was fun had by all, as you helped your team towards the goal of 600 million pts. (Really got to burn in my new gpus.) Remember that this is all going to something bigger; protein folding for major diseases such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and some cancers. As Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away, I am thankful towards the medical research that has cured a cancer from one of my immediate family members. After a stressful semester, thank you all for inspiring hope that we can take what we have today and use it for a better tomorrow.

Glad you're back BadBertie! Hope you are feeling better each day.

I think Troy forgot a mention in his last post, he's so modest....that's what I was told anyway. You deserve a huge thank you Troy, for everything you do to make this thing run so well. I am always glad when we have a contest, it's great for Team EVGA!! Thank you.

It was great taking part in this years' TZC, my first so far! Hopefully not the last. Will continue to fold as usual until the 6 billion goal is met!
