Any news?

Okay so the technician had no luck on fixing the issue. Ge will be returning the mobo to asus and get a new mobo of the same model from them. He is shipping out tomorrow. I am thinking to ordering the rampage V extreme 10 from amazon and take it to him to install it and when he gets the other mobi back, i can sell it here on the forum. Smart idea? Please let me know :)

Seriously? I thought you said the president of the company said if they can't fix it they would get you the rampage v 10 for no extra charge??? They can keep the usually refurbished board they would get back from rma.

Yeah now if ya want the new board is will cost you. You would have to sell that board at a loss. 0 warranty to the buyer plus the cost of the new board.

What a pain.

Also would have to reinstall windows and start over instslling your programs again.

Keeping the same board would prevent this as it would be plug and play.

Obviously would be easier for them to just do it for you with the new 10 version bit at what cost since they might as well install win 10.

If you want to give installing your new asus rampage 10 board I bet you can do it! ;) the manual that comes with the board shows you how. Just take your time reading to understand it before acting. Asus even provides a cpu safe install plastic clip that is used to easily install the cpu without damage to the pins. It stays on so you can easily remove the cpu as well.

Installing windows would be the only issue but if you have a DVD drive just slap the disk in and press power.. they even sell a version of windows with it on a USB drive for quicker install. Windows walks you threw the install.

Okay so i spoke with the technician and he agreed to install the board that i will supply 'rampage v extreme 10' with windows 10 at no cost. and I will be selling the current board via kijiji or here or ebay... i know i will be losing money but it's the best option imo... Also...do i really need to get the rampage v extreme 10? what is so better on it compared to my current one... i know my current one has 10ports of 3.1 usb but no rgb lightings lol. care to clarify? so i can make a swift decision and cancel my amazon order... THanks! :)

Get the newest!!

http://www.asus.com/us/Mo...-RAMPAGE-V-EDITION-10/

http://www.asus.com/us/Mo.../RAMPAGE_V_EXTREMEU31/

Has the latest offerings other new boards have with u.2 ports that yours dont.. encase you want a u.2 nvme drive later on like a new Intel 750 ssd or newer drive later.

Has newer USB 3.1 type c connectors you may need down the road.

Better with wi-fi if you need it with 5ghz.

Way better built in sound with built in discrete amps for head phones and 10 seperate built in dacs and it's a good brand dac in sabre.

Safe slots for all pcie slots. Metal casing on the pcie slots to help strengthen them so heavy cards won't damage it.

New cpu install bracket so the next guy that installs your cpu won't bend any pins so your memory is good! Haha tell him to use it!

Many more as well too much to list but yeah the rgb lighting is great!

Basicly a super tweaked no holds bared newest version of your board with all the extras and the added front panel dac for your headphones either volume control nob.

If the option was mine no second thoughts.. it would be the newest rampage.

He'll if I could return my memory still I'd exchange my new 6700k and z170 board and grab a 6850k and that board and 4 dimms of some ram and smile.

Sucks Im still in the 30 day window to return my cpu and board.. though I did just overclock my cpu to 4.8ghz last night but still more then 4 cores cpu would bench higher hehe.
