I'm not sure if anyone has said this, as I didn't read much into this post or replies, because I'm not qualified to help.

But, moknowsbest, being a PC noob (i am one too)  what would you ever even dream that you would need the power of 2 1080s for? especially FTWs...

Some people want what they want. Others believe that is one is good two is better.

This type of HP is good for 60 fps on 4K maybe 5K displays

haha yeah :P

But tbh... i work at a print shop and clients always wants a better quality print and quick turn-around and i am known as a 1000% best employee in the print industry to deliver that kind of service and performance. So when it comes to treating myself, i would like do the same :) but unfortunately, other vendors and services don't give a crap about their clients/customers. So yeah, whatever i do or buy i make sure it is a high-end product or at least close to it <3

You have the option of linking both card together or seperate in precision X. I believe it'd the same in afterburner.

I've tried unlinking in precision X a week ago and it didn't work. Whatever settings I set it did for both cards. Maybe it works for older cards or maybe cards not runing in sli.

I used to always use afterburner but this time I like precision X since I understand it now. Back when was hard to find what I was looking for.

Though I can't get it to load with Windows even though I have it set to load on boot up. I always have to wait for Windows to finish loading and then open it.. hopefully it works right when I install win10 pro fresh this time.

Currently stuck on the phone till I finish building the new rig. :/

You HAVE to use Precision X OC, with the 10 series GPU.

You can unlink them and then push apply button

His monitor is 3440X1440 which is 4,953,600 pixels.  You are running 3840X2160 which is 8,294,400 pixels.  You are running 1.67 times more pixels.  The easy answer is to move away from a 4K monitor to get those frame rates.

He should be able to get 60fps @4k with 2 cards I would think. I originally bought the Asus 27" PG279Q 1440p monitor and was getting 120 to 140fps in Doom. I thought if I was getting those kind of frame rates I could easily run the 4K variant but after some research and reviewer opinions, I decided 1440p was the sweet spot. the ultra-wide monitors kinda peaked my interest and decided to give it a try.... Once I saw it in action, I loved it....

on heaven benmark:
200 to  240fps below 1920x1080
100 to 140fps for 2560x1600
40 - 60fps for 3840x1440

no overclocked.

absolutely sorry it's suppose to read 3840x2160 not 1440. btw after overclocked for that setting the benchmark would crash within 5 mins on the lowest OC tweak..

Okay guys, so i've done overclock tweaking today and it went OK.... sometimes either my cards will crash or the benchmark. i started to tweak little by little individually but same fps were shown... as for The Division i will not get 60fps for the life of me tweak or no tweak with no sli enabled because it lags with SLI on.

Anyways i think i'm asking for too much. i am happy with what i have i guess...if i have to game i'll just game on 1920x1080 res..

I would update the Precision X 16 as EVGA made Precision X OC for the 10 series cards and it has more features

Sometimes the two GPUs will Not OC to the same setting.  Unlinking will allow the "better" GPU to be OC higher than the other one.
