They have no problem shipping plenty to Amazon where you can go buy one on Prime and have it in 2 days but they're ok with customers who committed to buying one several months ago continue to wait. This is garbage.

Amazon.com, Newegg.com, and B&H Photo along with other sites have had the 08G-P4-6183-KR in stock consistently since the end of August, yet the people waiting for their Step Up cards since May and June still don't have them.  Some vendors are selling the EVGA GTX 1080 cards for less than MSRP now that the demand has reduced.  The wait for the step seems excessive.  If the Step Up program is going to take 4 months in the future with newer generations of GPUs, I'd rather buy a competitor's product in the future for less money and not bother with waiting for 4 months to step up.  Four months of enjoyment of a faster GPU is worth the hit I'd take selling a used GPU on eBay instead of stepping up.  If the step up program took less time I'd have a different opinion.

Basically, the two reasons I spent extra money and bought EVGA graphics cards in the past were the lifetime warranty and the step up program.  The lifetime warranty is gone and the step up program takes forever.

I chose EVGA based on the Step Up Option but this has gotten ridiculous. Offered a 1080 SC version to expedite the step up then   wait .. wait.. wait..    and then tried to get me to step back down so I would not have to wait for the SC. This will not be a factor in my next purchase decision.
I think you may email them about downgrade to the reg version.

No I was offered the SC for the extended wait and to expedite the process so Im sticking with the SC to at least obtain a card that cost a little more and at least feel like I got a little something extra for the wait.  The idea of the Step Up to me is to obtain the latest card at minimal cost if its released within the time frame given. At this rate it will not be the latest. They should allow you to pay the difference on a card that is in stock like the Hybrid or FTW if they cannot fulfill on the cards offered in the step up in a reasonable amount of time. Months is not a reasonable amount of time.

I agree it would be nice to be given the option to pay the difference to step up to FTW version since that seems to be more readily available than the SC version.  I've been waiting on my step-up for both my cards since May and will reach the 5-month mark very soon.

EVGA received my card last Tuesday morning and the new one still hasn't been shipped out yet.

Going on 6 months, I give up hope...I'll just buy the Vega 10 monster coming out instead and sell my 980ti on eBay or something...if this SC doesn't come soon...EVGA lost a future customer that's for sure.
