This is just driving me crazy...

all was fine until now, old gear is :

I5-3570K at 4,200mhz
MSI msi z68a-g55
G.skill DDR 3 1600Mhz xmp.
PSU HX650W corsair.

3 weeks ago in games computer started to shutdown and restart.
when it happens i always hear a strange "click" and then computer just shuts down + starting again.

happens only in heavy games like GTA 5 etc...

after a week and about 3-4 shutdowns mid game my motherboard was fried.
suspecting the PSU i decided to upgrade the whole PC.

new gear is :
I7-6700K (not overclocked- Stock) no point overclocking this monster.
MSI gaming M7 motherboard.
kingston savage hyperx 2800Mhx xmp (set at xmp profile of 2800)
PSU seasonic gold X-750w
Driver 372.70 (updating to newer one but i don't think it will help)
started GTA 5 and after 40 minutes of gameplay BOOM i hear this strange Click again and before i realized what's going on computer restarted O_O.

CPU is water cooled and at full load hovering at around 50C (about 28C idle -  53C max)
GPU set to costume fan curve and never passing 70C. (fan speed reaching 75% at max)
Motherboard Temperature hovering around 40C.
using Fast sync and getting around 120-190FPS in gta 5 all maxed out.
also i hear buzzing coil noise from the GPU at high FPS with Fast sync or Sync off. (but that's expected and i don't mind this noise)

now i wonder, what in the name of great caesar ghost going on ??? is it the GPU ? i have swapped everything but that.

also like to add that i used EVGA GTX 780 for 2 years and i never had this problem. (computer was solid like a rock until GPU upgrade)

need help guys :(

Sounds like the gpu is the problem since you have swapped everything else out. Try using another gpu or running off the igpu for awhile.

when using Igpu nothing happens but then i can't really play games with it.
with 1080 if i do the same things as Igpu nothing happens.
the issue only happens when i play heavy games with NO V-sync or with Fast sync On .... strange but i think with V-sync on it never happened yet.

but then the games are slow and sluggish :S (V-sync sux)

I'm with Sajin on this one. If you have the exact same problem on two systems (sweet new build, BTW... Grats) with only one like component, it's that component or the power delivery to the computer. Do you use a UPS or power strip?

Did you reuse any power cables from the old build?

Are you running your PC off a UPS?

I had a 6-year old UPS crap out one of my PCs.  When the PC drew just enough power, the UPS would drop power (even though it was well below the UPS power limit)...I would hear a "click" when this happened...the click was coming from the UPS.

I replaced the UPS with a new one and all is fine now.

If you don't have a UPS...have you tried a different surge suppressor?  These can go bad too.

This is exactly what I was thinking, the click you are hearing could be a power relay and that is not likely to exist outside of an UPS.

You might be hitting your UPS power limit.

Man this is 2 threads in a row.. drop the ups!

When I was 25 my old man helped me install a dedicated outlet just for my rig.. he was so terrified my huge pc custom overclocked monster would burn the house down.. anyways get a dedicated power line for it if your room can't supply enough juice for your rig.

I am not using ups... Just installed power surge unit... Hopefully it will help. How can I know if my room can handle my rig? When computer restarts lights in the room not blinking or going out... As in power problems.

Also good to note, when I had gtx 780 all was fine... That card uses more power then 1080

Not using ups, I have used few things from the old build...

Pc case haf X with fans.
2x120mm
1x140mm
2x240mm
Cpu corsair h110i with two 140mm fans.

New psu came with power cable and I am using it. Threw out the old one.
