I currently only run the rig listed in my signature, and an ASUS ROG laptop from 2014 with a core i7 cpu and geforce 860M gpu. I don't recall the model number.

I don't often build new rigs. In fact I've only ever built completely new rigs (for myself, I've built some for others) from scratch three times, once in the early 90s, once in the mid 90s, and once again in 2005. What I do is upgrade and rebuild with some new components, but there's hardly ever a "spare rig" left over from a rebuild, since I'm typically adding or replacing components in an existing rig. Sometimes it's just a video card, sometimes I upgrade the mobo/cpu/RAM and use the existing video card, case, psu, hard drive/ssd, blur-ray burner, monitor, etc. Occasionally I've bought a new case and rebuilt the existing machine into it.

My current main rig has no components left from my original new build of 2005, but is a direct evolutionary descendant of it. Actually, when I put my 1920x1200 LCD back on my desk as a second monitor, there will be an original component of the 2005 build back in my rig, since I bought that Dell 24" LCD in 2005 for that new build, and replaced it as primary monitor only 3 or 4 months ago with the 28" Monoprice 4K.
