Part 1 of the dual motherboard install done today....

Lower board installed.

Squeezed 2x 970's in there, i7-6700K, 16gb ram and AIO Corsair H100i cooler.

All neat and tidy, now to just slide it in and start on the upper board.

Hey Guy's,
Been busy messing around with computers this week.
Finally got some CPU's for my HP DL585 G7, originally had 4x cpu's with 4 cores each, Now have 12 cores for each cpu.. 48 cores now.
Thought I would throw some tasks at it.
Running the rest of my Enigma tasks, runs perfect..on all 48 cores.

But just tested some Folding, It does not use all 48 cores, even though it has detected and says cpu:48.. using the beta Folding client.
I am looking at CoreTemp and see not all cpu's cores, some are at 0%
Yes I should ask over on the Folding forum, but thought to ask here as most of you here were BigAd crunchers.

Anyway, More water cooling parts came in today, so need to finish my hoses and fire up another computer..

Appreciate any comments.
Cheers

OK, So I found the problem.. should have looked in the logs first...

So would this be done for every WU??

Punchy
I have a vague recollection that after the end of bigadv, the remaining CPU projects do not scale to as many CPUs as before.  I could be wrong... but the more important point is that it is almost pointless (note the pun) to do CPU folding any longer.  The PPD/Watt is so low compared to GPUs that unless your energy is free it simply is not worth doing.  In last year's TZC, I produced only 2.4 million points using a 24-core Xeon E5 system that draws 300W, in what must have been a few weeks' time.  Now you can do that much in 5 days or less, drawing 170W with a GTX 1070.

If I remember right 8 is the most cores for SMP right now, so you have to run 6 slots of 8 cores to load up your system.
Maybe easier to just go do some PG LLR WUs and see how well she does.

What MB and CPUs did you go with?
