The numbers keep changing around on us, but in the end it's all good. We're ultimately still on top of the heap for a while and when another 800 lb gorilla shows up, it's time for us to get our game face on and defend our slot on the top of the heap! This pimp has spent far to long busting his hump helping the team get and hold #1. I sure as heck won't let go without letting a few pimp hands fly! ;-)

I just checked and we're out pacing them on the weekly total by about 100 Million points  so far. 673,101,926 for us vs 573,741,483 for them as of the latest EOC update.

I think there is a little confusion going on here, Drougnor.
Your numbers were from our Team vs Barnacules Nerdgasm, while Un4givn85 was talking about Curecoin (they had 677,243,037 points at that time and still have a small lead in the last week).

Ooooooohhhh. Thanks for pointing that out!  I was over tired and shouldn't have been trying to do things with numbers. *laughs* My bad, folks, my bad.

Freshly reloading the chart and seeing the Curecoin team light up red as a 'danger' is kind of exciting. They've got a HECK of a long lead to chew up, but we've got someone bringing the fight to us!

i think once CoolGTXs averages level out from having 6 GPUs folding, they wont be as much of a "threat" lol

Just another thought from the other side of the fence. I've also noticed what appears to be a drop in active users every time the stat servers go on vacation. I'm not sure how much of that is the stat servers not being caught up with things when they get revived, or how many are leaving when they see Zero credits for the day's work on a web page when the stat servers are down. So retention of users may be a rather interesting one for many teams that don't have a 'dedicated' core of members keeping things going.

I had done crunching for another project years ago, and a combination of flaky servers and brand new computer parts exploding convinced me it was not worth the electricity and effort to keep things going. I am retired and am not made of money, so I can not afford to keep replacing things that breaks for a project that can't keep the 'WU' flow going, lol.

Not to my knowledge, not that it maters much to me. The ketch is the "Up to" in that, implying that it is less if you do not have the 3-phase power to feed a VCA cluster, and if you had a VCA cluster that would not be of any significance in any case.  We do not crunch for BOINC or FAH for the 'benefits' from the effort of keeping the computers running, we do it because we are willing to support the scientist's work.

I only dropped by to toss in the thought about active users vs the stat servers going on vacation. And I need to do something about the GTX960 watt-hog in my DAW, that may be covered in another thread somewhere (how to get the GTX960 under 100 watts TDP when doing Iray stuff).

Ah, so that did change from years past. I will say that minimum per month is well beyond the capabilities of my peasant-affordable computer that I must use for other things, lol.

Thanks.

No, is what really changed was newer Graphics Cards.
Those who now have a new Pascal Graphics Card can really poor out the PPD as compared to Graphics Cards of the Past.
You do not only help find a cure you also earn to help offset your cost of newer hardware from EVGA.
And "we do it because we are willing to support the scientist's work." who supports you, EVGA.
