So , they are now down to 35% retention and many users haven't even gotten their first electric bill.
As I've mentioned before...there is absolutely no leadership and no direction for the project.
Dr. Pande is MIA, working on his investments in cloud computing and managing a high stakes venture capital fund.

While you can get millions of people to try almost anything..(old enough to remember pet rocks), in order to retain, you have to show people they are actually achieving something.

The lack of communication and lack of leadership will continue to see the project tank.

It is just a fact. I know everyone here wishes otherwise, but unless you DEMAND change, we will just see the continuous repetition of history.

Irregardless of communication/leadership issues, I still believe that this is proving beneficial to someone, somewhere and will keep on doing it.  Got a GTX 1060 that I'm going to toss in the rig this weekend and hopefully starting next week, that will provide a boost to the team here.

Yes, there are always going to be a core of really dedicated people who will donate regardless.
My team has one guy that has donated 3.75 billion points on home servers (not gpu)
However, that level of dedication and persistence is the exception and not the rule.

I don't question if the donations are or will be useful.

I question how the project squanders the good will and initiative of people like Barnacules Nerdgasm.

I think the lack of stewardship borders on fraud.

But, you don't need to take my view as fact.
just watch the retention rate of this new team drop over the coming months and you will see what I mean.

their retention may have dropped to 35% but their PPD has only dropped to ~70% of their peak. this means that yes there were a TON of people that just did 1-10 units over a couple days and stopped but it also means that those who are actually doing real work are sticking around, at least for now.

Folding @ EVGA is no longer #1 in production because you keep moving back over to Curecoin

my 3mill ppd didn't make a difference the last 2 days, we still lost to them. so back to making CURE so i can get funds to donate to the timezone challenge, if they can accept btc that is.

Maybe not, but add your change and add 100 more and it makes a difference.
But I guess you are correct in the long run your score makes no real difference.

lol. yea, the indication to me was when a pathetic GT740 got into the top one third of the list, before I got a GTX960. I don't even have an i7 in the mix, that is to rich for my blood (FX8350 is all I got).  The number of cards that out fold a GT740 has got to be insane, not that the GTX960 is much to brag about these days (except in Iray, the GTX960 at least has the minimum 4GB on the card for that unlike the 3GB GTX 1050, errr 3GB wannabe GTX1060), lol.

I'd hoped that they'd stick with it, every unit folded helps. I remember starting on a 8800gtx. Problem is most people logoff or turn their systems off when they're done. It's only the diehards that rock it overnight and 24/7 in some cases. Even I had to turn my system off at times due to heat and power bills from time to time.

Not sure whether the lead has truly shrunk a bit today, or whether it will take a bit still for other folders to come online, but our projected date to overtake curecoin is now 2033 (whereas yesterday, I could swear it said 2042)
