I got my RMA hybrid today before installing it I noticed that it came pre damaged. There was no damage to the box that it was shipped in or the card box. This clearly happened before the card was placed in the box. I have already contacted EVGA about this. I'll post the pictures tomorrow mobile upload isn't working

I got this reply from EVGA Asia (TW)

Dear Customer

For black screen issue, please go to EVGA Asia Website to apply RMA first.
1. Go to

2. MEMBER HOME / My Products

3. Submit RMA request

4. Once getting EVGA RMA No, please pack the product well and stick the shipping label on the package.
and then provide your contact information (Address, phone number, contact name and RMA number).
And we will arrange courier to collect the card from you. Once we receive the card , we will advice our RD have firmware fixed the issue and send back the card to you ASAP.

Thanks

Does this mean they're just going to update the firmware on my card and then send it back? So the problem is firmware? I'm not really sure about GPU but shouldn't firmware be upgradable by end users?

I'm asking whether they allow me to do a step-up with the RMA to a Hyrbid or not, otherwise I actually don't mind keeping the same card as I'm managing 2088-2101Mhz with this one and I think I can push it a little more.

I received my RMA card FTW from EVGA TW last tuesday (Sep 13th), and the whole process took a week due to shipping (RMA approved on Sep 5th, EVGA TW sent out the card on Sep 12th).  EVGA TW sent me a sealed retail package which I could think it is a new card instead of refurnishment.  The serial number of the RMA card is different to my first card which I bought from Amazon.  Since I got the RMA card, I am using my new PC regularly (playing WoW mainly, raid coming tomorrow), and the card didnt go black screen with 100% fan spinning yet (touchwood).  I also ran skydiver for many times on the first day RMA card arrived, it was no crash at all.  Refer to a post stating about the serial code, it makes me feeling that the defective card may come from a same factory (just a wild guess).

Did they start shipping right after the courier collected the old card or did they ship only after they've received your card at their side?

Sadly there's no Hybrid in Asia and there's no step-up in Asia. So much for my first EVGA product.

Wonder how long it's gonna take for me to get mine back, I'm in Singapore. Just submitted the RMA.

Did you try to OC yours? How did it go?

I have 2 1080s FTW in SLI, been playing Doom, WOWs, Arma 3, GTA V, The Division... No issues at all. I am wondering what resolutions are you guys running? I am currently running 1080p but my new monitor is arriving on Thursday and its an Asus 27" IPS 1440p w/165hz refresh... I hope I do not run into any issues.. :D

1080p with GTX 1080 SLI? That's more than overkill, that's a waste of money.

Guessing you didn't read the part which you quoted where he is getting a 1140p (1440p typo) with 165 Hz refresh, a single 1080 has serious issues hitting 100+ fps on max settings at 1440p in most new games.

Running that same monitor myself on a single 1080 FTW and it's a nice combo but some games you need to pull down the AA or suffer <60 fps.

I am using a 2560x1440 monitor.

It's such a strange issue to have. So far only World of Warcraft has caused the issue for me, tonight I'm going to play some Division/Mankind Divided to see if I can replicate it before sending off RMA no. 2.

Got a question about the RMA, do I need to pay the shipping cost first? As I need to ship the card to TW and just want to double check. Thanks

I can only speak for the UK but typically yes, you pay the cost of shipping the card back to them.
My RMA replacement had the same fault so they offered to send a courier to collect that one but I got the impression it was the exception rather than the rule.

Currently awaiting delivery of my 2nd RMA (3rd card in total)
