So I got my RMA'd card back on the 10th September, and I just got the black screen 100% fan error AGAIN. They sent me a brand new card out, complete with retail box etc. The shop I bought it from will not refund me without charging 10% restocking fee. I am so fed up now, having spend £680 on a faulty product line that EVGA does not seem to be able to fix.

This is my first time using EVGA, they came recommended and have a good reputation but unfortunately I am not seeing that, now I am going to have to RMA for a 2nd time. I don't even want this card anymore, I just want a refund so I could switch to a different brand/model. FTW 1080 for reference.

What?! Where did the RMA'd card come from? Was it from EVGA directly? Or the shop just sent your another FTW which was made before 8-30?

It came from EVGA directly. I sent my old card back to their UK RMA center and they shipped me the new one out from Germany.

Just a quick update my RMA has been working flawlessly all weekend through extensive stress testing of VR games on the VIVE. I have been able to play Elite Dangerous for 8 hours without stopping and not a single crash.

My card came from EVGA directly aswell. The card i got from RMA was sealed in box. Even though the support person i talked to said the problem was fixed and new cards tested.

Today i sent both 1080FTW cards back with UPS.  Both the original i bought and the first RMA.

Now the "funny" thing is I have paid for 2 cards. 1 from the store and 1 as collateral from advanced RMA. And now i have 0 cards. and 0 money. Yaay me!

OMG, I hope someone from EVGA can come out to clear this.

Same. They said any cards sent out after 30/08 wouldn't have this problem but that's simply not true as my RMA was processed between 05/09 and 10/09 and I still got a faulty card back. Really disappointed. Now I have to wait another week or two for another RMA, and who is to say I won't get another faulty card? Are the Classified model's reported to have this problem? If not they should be upgrading us to those.

That would be an excellent business move, but I will not hold my breath.

indeed, im not saying they should dish out Classified for all RMA`s. But when they manage to send us a defective replacement. You should be entitled to some vip treatment.  :P

That would be sweet but all I want is a solid explanation, if even the replacements are having the same problem I don't think it's actually fixed and they have no idea what's causing it.

Are September batches problem free about this issue? Due to custom problems and shipping cost, I don't want to go for RMA process. Instead, I am going to return it and buy new one from Amazon.

I wouldn't get a FTW if I had a choice now. My card came from EVGA directly in September and it's got the problem. I would choose a different model altogether.
