So I have my RMA ticket ready to go but am unsure if I should wait or not. Reading that some peoples cards after the 30th are still having the problem. How do I know this new card will actually fix the problem, also without knowing the cause and how random it seems to be in people's cards how will I know the new card will not start doing it 6months down the track?

Unless EVGA tells us exactly what was causing this, we won't know for certain that this won't happen down the line with a new card. It seems most people are getting a new card that doesn't overclock quite as well. For all we know, they just placed certain limits on the card in its firmware to ensure the card doesn't have the problem again, even though the card may still contain a hardware fault. Unless they tell us, we won't know whether it's the root cause that has been fixed or if they just patched it up so the root problem never has a chance to surface.

My RMA card is coming in on Friday. I'll try to update with anything I notice different between the two cards.

I agree, many evga products I've owned have been great. Not sure if there is change in management or ownership, but it's got me wondering why it's an evga issue and not the others. I'm tempted to fork out the money for the Titan x pascal and the Edk block, albeit on my credit card. Lol

They don't tell us whats wrong because if the problem is faulty component on board, then every board that used that component is faulty(every card before fix?), and then every people that sees that his/her card has these faulty components is going to RMA.

Now only those that have problems are going to rma(not all), company saves money.

I bet it is a bad BIOS Firmware... In most cases, bad Firmware do (Deleted for Foul Language) up the hardware, by giving it wrong command lines. :(
I'm talking about the Graphic Card's BIOS, not the Motherboard's BIOS!

Got my second replacement (3rd card now). It no longer stays above 2000Mhz. It stays at about 1947ish with temps at around 67-69. My two previous card with the black screen + fan problem usually stayed at 2038. It could be silicon lottery. Who knows.  I doubt the difference between 2038 and 1947 is discernible, but it just feels good to have a GPU that breaks 2Ghz.

Ive the same issue but for me it got progressively worse. To start with it would happen once maybe every 3 or 4 days, now I can barely get 20 minutes before it goes.

EVGA sent me a modified BIOS which they said 'might' resolve it. It didn't.
Seems like (and this is total speculation on my part) that it is a BIOS fault, but prolonged failures damage the card.

Got my RMA arriving today. My original one overclocked to a stable 2100 and I very much doubt I'll get that lucky in the silicon lottery a 2nd time, but seeing the number of people who are on their 2nd or 3rd RMA I'd be happy if it just works
