We have identified this and can confirm that this occurs on a small number of 1080 FTW cards. We have found the root cause and have corrected it. If you are experiencing this problem please contact us directly.

Jacob,

My RMA shipped yesterday, 8/30/2016 around 5:30 PM PST for a new replacement FTW card.  Will the 'fix' be on my new card when it comes next week?

Your post was a few hours after it shipped so I want to make sure the fixed cards were shipped before your annoucement.

Edit:  Jacob replied 'yes' via Tweet.  Yay :)

Cool GTX

Well, I just called EVGA and the ''fix'' that he found is an RMA.  You'd assume with the way this was said, you wouldn't have to send it in.

First EVGA card ever, wonderful.

Welcome to the forums GosuPvP

In manufacturing, the assembly is only as good as the parts used; obviously EVGA has identified a faulty component.

Jacob mentioned "a small number of 1080 FTW cards", so if it is hardware issue, can we know the serial numbers of these cards?

Let us know today how it goes.  I am curious if your card has the 'fix' or not.  If they just fixed it yesterday then probably not.

Jacob so I can proceed with an advanced rma knowing my next card won't be faulty? If it's gonna be faulty can I ask for a full refund without stocking fee?

So the specific problem that was confirmed, would it impact 1070 FTW cards as well? Such as GPU binning? I've had crashes like this with my 1070 but I haven't seen many posts in the forum about the same problem being experienced by users of my card.

I just got off the phone with them, according the Chris (Support Manager), all 1080 FTW cards received through RMA from yesterday forward will have the fix implemented. If you are experiencing the issue I would suggest contacting them directly at either their support number or e-mail to arrange the proper RMA for your situation.
