What happened to the free Advanced RMAs they were giving out earlier? Now they're asking you to pay extra for their mistake to be fixed? That's just wrong...

You could ask about it, and maybe get the money back.

Count yourself lucky you don't live in the EU. 'Advanced RMA' here means you pay for the new card. In full.
€670.
Then they refund it when you send the old one back
(Although when that one doesn't work either and you're out over €1200 and have no cards you tend to make this face :/ )

Oh? It was my understanding that there isn't an Advanced RMA outside of NA. Is it a special "Advanced" RMA for this issue?

Lol, that's still better than Asia, I can't even pay in full for another card even if I wanted to.

They Still call it an Advanced RMA but you're basically just buying another card. Except the purchase date is still logged on the invoice as the purchase date of your 'original' card. So no matter how many RMAs you go through the purchase date stays the same.
This is how people who are on their 3rd RMA are now being send refurbished cards and being told "Sorry, you're over 30 days. We cant replace with new anymore"

Went with EVGA mainly because of everything ive heard about their wonderful customer service but im starting to think that should come with the qualifier "....if you're American"

Exactly what I thought, this is my first EVGA product, was eager to contact their support after having the black screen to witness the legendary customer service, just to find out none of it exists outside of US.
