Your Home power can cause coil whine as well. If your home can not provide clean power, it may be causing a whine. I have a 650g2, 1300g2, 1600g2, an enermax 1350 gold and enermax 1500 gold set of power supplies, as well as a 780ti, two 980tis and a 1070.. None of them have coil whine.

I am not saying your home is absolutely the problem, but it could be a small portion of what is causing it.

My home power?! And my friend's home power (I wrote about checking card on his PC)? Maybe all power in whole Poland is just bad? :-) ABSURD.

You are not the only person in this thread . My post was a general post, which is why I didn't quote anyone. Users tend to quote people when a commented is directed at them, so it isn't taken as a general comment.

Keep in mind that people have utilized UPS systems to help clean the power delivery and stop coil whine. This is not practical for every user.

I've had my EVGA 1070 FTW for a couple of weeks now and zero coil whine (or any other noise come to that). Quietest card I've had for a while now. Last few cards were MSI (460/580/670/970).

Even on some of the loading screens where my MSI 970 gaming used to start to squeal, the 1070 is as quiet as a church mouse.

As a few others have commented, buying a graphics card is a bit of a crapshoot (IE. "a risky or uncertain matter") as they say. Pretty much applies to all the problems/issues with the current generation of graphics cards (and all previous generations come to that). Mine even has the dreaded Micron memory that's not supposed to OC very well, well on mine it OC's just fine. Luck of the draw.

In that case, I'm glad that not only in Poland, we have a "bad power" :)))

EVGA is not the only GTX 1070 that has possible coil whine, ive tested 3 different brands with different PSU,s and on different computers.
They all had coil whine.

Well, that mean that all of them (along with nvidia) have us for nothing. Like EVGA. I have EVGA card, we are on EVGA's forum, so I write about EVGA. I had their cards before, and this time they completely messed up my confidence. Can you say which brands have you tested?

And I could buy RX 480 instead of GTX...

Well...I have a 1070 FTW, no coil whine, no BS 100%, so far no problems whatever.

Sorry
