if your gpu is idling at 80c then you have a problem
likely a bitcoin miner
either that or the cooler is falling off the card because there is no possible way that a 1060 will idle at 80c even with the fan completely stopped
and yes you are still 'an' idiot
Once again, you fail to read. I even stated my GPU doesn't idle at 80C; I was quoting the random temperature that you typed.
Before the BIOS update, my card idled at 34C which was fantastic. The fan ran constantly which caused unwanted noise. After the update, it idles at 61C to 65C depending on the ambient temperature, which is still too high for idle. Doubling the temperature while is NOT okay after doing a BIOS update to resolve an issue, especially when there isn't an official rollback option. The fan should kick in, cool the GPU, and then slow and turn off. That is how my past two cards (from EVGA mind you) have operated.
Keep on with the petty name-calling, badly typed responses, and poor reading comprehension; I'm stating facts from this card and previous generation cards from the manufacturer and the expectations of a reasonable consumer.
