The AMD board issue is NOT FIXED... You cannot flash the bios with the .exe from EVGA, you NEED nvflash to update the gpu bios on an AMD board. Once flashed, the fan will work at lower speed (idles at 21-25% and ramp up as the temp raise). The subvendor ID on gpu-z will stay at 0000.

BTW i downloaded the lastest Precision XOC, and with the new one, everything is working well.

I was able to flash the zero-rpm bios but not the lower-idle one using the Evga's .exe. Weird.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the latest version of PrecisionXOC and It still does not recognize my Evga card. And It does not ask for it also anymore. At the very first installation it did though.

Could anyone that did not flashed to newer bios version, extract the original bios with nvflash and send it to me?

Hi all,

Just wanted to report that I had sent EVGA's support email a request with my card's model number and the lower speed fan for the 6GB "SC", and they replied the next morning.

I had a good chance to try out 01.60 over a few days and it seems to be a good compromise between completely quiet and high speed (noise) all the time with corresponding shorter fan life.  But I can see the reasoning behind using different versions depending on your application.  On a particular game of mine, I went from a high of 75°C to a high of 67°C.

00.62 The new stock BIOS, good if you're running a HTPC and need silence over performance, and don't mind a little throttling.
01.60 The optional BIOS from EVGA, runs 600-700 RPM at all times and is a good compromise between better performance and a little fan wear when idle.  It'll be interesting to see if this throttles at all in the winter months (when the room temp is colder).
00.60 The original BIOS that had aggressive fan speeds and was used in a lot of the original reviews.  Probably still OK if you are using your card in a hot case and should fix that, but for now this will help keep more air moving.

I have this card in a really large full ATX case, so your numbers might vary...

It's been a while since I ran nvflash myself, but you can practice I remember using nvflash to save (extract) the BIOS first which you should do anyway as a backup.  Once you get that working, you'll have a good idea on how to write it back.  Maybe someone here can point you to a tutorial though.

Hi, is there/will there be an updated 0db BIOS for the 3GB 1060?  My card is sat here at only 30oC but the fan is at 42% which is over 1000rpm.

My card is the SC version 86.06.11.00.62

BIOS update is already there - but the fan following is cool - it's not scary, I -Make changes in the manual and now I play and work without problems - even to say so that the system(Precision Xoc) has improved markedly, and judge for yourself that the card is the small size and the strength of its not designed for all hundred in the game (Rise of the Tomb Rider) setting at medium does not exceed 70 C. + even change the FPS 50 -Shows stable system and move the slider to 83 to 72 or 70 ° C .Want another example - I twisted all the settings to the maximum in the game (Rise of the Tomb Rider) at 70 ° C the temperature of the system and 30 FPS - has raised the temperature in the game at 89 after 10 minutes - put the quiet running of the fan - complete silence cards - what more do you want after that - it's almost -Super)) but certainly not to spend hours playing -Zotak example would fly like a rocket))) from the case ....
Once again I will say this card is for medium settings - its main advantage of stability in the 60 FPS at medium settings at full HD 1080P
