Because then people tend to put the wrong BIOS on a card or 'test things' and then complain about that.  eVGA are simply asking you get with them and verify the card so that you get the correct BIOS for your card.

can anyone who got the new bios with the lower idle rpm (not the 0db) to share the bios please ?

I did a quick test for about 10min with OCCT and it stayed at 70ºC solid.
The idle temp is 35ºC with the fan at 31%.
 
EDIT:Btw, the new bios version is: 86.06.27.01.60.

I just opened a service ticket to request the firmware. They sent me in about 5 hours. The fan idles at 28% now, with temperature at 36-37C.

if anyone want me to host it somewhere, ping me, this "nowhere to download" nonsense from evga is total crap and I disregard it and I will host it for local users at least

it shouldn't take days to catch a new bios, it should take not more than 10 seconds when it is already available

Well, pardon me for having been in the business of working on electronics for 30 years and trying to provide a real answer to someone that only wants to hear what they want to.

Nope. Same problem with me. Although the zero-rpm fan mode works, my PrecisionX does not recognize my Evga card. And the fan goes to %100 first and then lowers it self to adjusted RPM, really annoying. I will try to get the default firmware from the support.
 
Edit: So support says they don't have the original bios. How is that even possible? Anyway, does anyone have the original bios? I really want to revert back to the one without the zero-fan mod. The fan curve on this one is really not cutting it out and the card is slightly thermal throttling itself.
