you still don't understand why you are an idiot
let me explain it
the gpu idling at 60c is completely acceptable and has no bearing on anything period end of discussion

if you have trouble understanding why you clearly aren't very educated on the subject
ASICs pull current and current as we all know is what kills gpus not temperature so its perfectly happy to sit at 60 or 70c at idle and it won't mean a dam thing

but hey since we both know you are too stupid to use precision to set a fan curve and let it run at 25% who am I to question your sound logic
you my silly little `consumer` are looking for problems where there are none some people value silence over completely meaningless idle temps

You're reading comprehension, grammatical, and punctuation skills fail you yet again; after this response I'm done, as I can clearly see your intelligence level by your English skills.

Before I go, I'll break it down in super simple terms so maybe you can comprehend it:

1. A BIOS update that solves a problem, yet creates a new one is not a solution.
2. If no solution to the BIOS update is provided, a roll back method (as others too have asked) should be provided so the end user has a choice.
     a. In a mini-ITX case, heat easily spreads and causes other components to heat up, which can cause overclocks that were stable to no longer be stable due to heat.
3. One should not be forced into using a software (Precision) to rectify a hardware issue; see 1.
4. It's not unreasonable for a consumer to expect what previous generations of hardware from the same manufacturer offered - especially when it can be done. Both have been working at different times on this very product.

you don't know how the laws of thermodynamics work do you ... kay then

a card idling at 40c puts out the same amount of heat as one idling at 60c (assuming the load and tdp are the same)

the net heat output doesn't change simply because the fan isn't spinning if anything the rest of the case will be cooler because the fan isn't blowing hot air around and the `heat` will remain isolated in the card as the heat-sink saturates, you might see a momentary spike in temperature as the fan spools up for the first time but the net energy there does not change
and if you MATX case is heating up enough to be a problem from a 20W heat addition then you obviously don't have any fans in the case

once again you do not know what you are talking about and still think you are right
worst still you are arguing with somebody that does

thats the text book definition of a idiot

1. you can flash back with nvflash / the update isn't `optional` all cards will ship with the update stock of cards with the older bios should be mostly depleted
and seriously whining about having to use a utilty that ships with the card to fix a `problem` that doesn't even exist .... I can't process that level of retarded
and that is the end of you

I thoroughly enjoy taking idiots like you down a peg

thanks for playing

Hello, i'm going to flash my evga gtx 1060 card later today with the idle-0db bios, but I would like to have the current bios as backup if I want to revert, can someone here send it to me or can I get it somewhere?

its not the superclocked version but the regular nonoverclocked single fan one,

thanks in advance!

80C is perfectly fine for an NV GPU under load. 90C is perfectly fine for an Intel CPU under load. These temperatures will not decrease lifespan in any appreciably manner.

Still no update for AMD motherboards?

Hopefully also for the 1060...

Even if they're not dangerous, the higher temps will still cause the GPU to throttle the clock speeds resulting in slower performance. I ran FireStrike and Valley benchmarks with the default 0db BIOS fan curve and a custom 1:1 fan curve, I'm sure you can guess which one scored higher.

Anyone know a way to obtain the original bios? I flashed this new one and would like to revert back.

We'll have to wait for GPU-Z to update and to become available Techpowerup's VGA Bios database.

Ok thanks, I had checked gpuz bios collection but only found 1070 and 1080 versions.
