We have a firmware update available for the single fan models of GTX 1060s for those of you who want the fan to remain on, but at a reduced speed. The models that can support the lower fan speed are:

- 06G-P4-6161-KR
- 06G-P4-6163-KR

I did a quick test for about 10min with OCCT and it stayed at 70ºC solid.
The idle temp is 35ºC with the fan at 31%.
 
EDIT:Btw, the new bios version is: 86.06.27.01.60.

Yes i would like the low fan speed bios update.

Maybe the first post should be updated with all 3 vbios .
 
The original always on at 45% with the aggressive fan curve, the 0 db fan-stop one and the new one with the less aggresive curve.
 
This way there is something for everyone.
 
 
 

Thanks to EVGA Customer Service Team for sending me the lower fan speed bios 86.06.27.01.60. As lazarost said the newer always on fan bios has lower starting point at 25% in comparison to the old one at 43%. I would also like to say that the forum bios link should be updated with he newer bios.
