Gusy I need your help.  I installed the hybrid cooler and it all seems to be working great.  As you may know the card's fans are setup to start running in my case (GTX1080SC) at around 60C.  With the cooler my temp never exceeds 45C so the fan basically never turns on to cool the Vram.
 
Is this ok, since before it turned on at around 60 or should I use Precision X to create a curve, if so, whats advised?

That's exactly my concern. Haven't received mine yet but planning to set fan at 50%.

Thanks im surprised no one has discussed this so far. I set a custom fan curve on the Precisoson X software. The gpu idles at just under 30c so I've started the curve there. Not sure if it's needed to cool the vrm or whatever else at that point but since I don't know the temps I rather be careful. I think the gpu temp only refers to the actual chip.

I couldn't find anything related to this specific subject else where.

After a day or so, running the fan in auto mode which doesn't start them till 60C, I started to get random flashes of color/patterns on my display.  I manually turned the fan on and they immediately went away.  Sucks that with the kit the vrm/vram fan uses the same profile as the regular cooler.

Yep and you should.   I was having issues with somewhat high temps, the thermal pad stuff going around and not to mention the fans speed fluctuation.  Water cooling solved most of these and not that expensive.

I've asked people about this and they all say they just leave it at stock. That's crazy! Since fan speed is directly proportional to GPU temp and GPU temp will never reach 60deg (unless you did something wrong or your AIO is broken), you will likely fry your board.
 
What fan speed did you set yours at?

I opened a supper ticket with evga and their response was simply that there's no need to worry or even apply the thermal tape mod. Simply run a more "aggressive" fan curve.

I don't feel comfortable not having some sort of air given there isn't a heat sink on the vrm to dissipate heat. I've set my fan to 20% from 0-31C(idle loads) and from 40C and on(which for me is under load) I've bumped them to 40-50% gradually.
Don't recall the exact look of my "custom" fan profile but I know I have three points of so.

Has been working perfect and temps steady even overclocked.

Simply adjusting the fan curve to a more aggressive setting is more than enough to cool the VRM's properly.

There is no concern for extra thermal pads for your hybrid kit.
