Cool GTX
Have you run a virus scan ?

What security software do you use ?

Works in FF (which I like) but IE 11 will fail

OC software like MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X, should be uninstalled first, then DDU drivers, then reinstall OC software - for best stability

I run DDU, and custom install the EVGA / Nvidia drivers --- Only selecting PhysX and the actual GPU (graphics) driver, none of the other "stuff" and select clean install. ( I do NOT load GeForce Experience software, Nvidia 3D drivers, Nvidia Sound )

I'd totally disconnect the NAS while testing your PC

What are Temps like for the GPU & CPU when it  fails ?

Use the free version of these software programs

GPU-Z

CPUID HWmonitor

Also

Speccy

I'm using AVG and Windows Defender on this system.
No Over Clocking software - I've always preferred stability over speed.
I will check out running DDU and doing a custom install on the graphics drivers. Did a clean install on the latest driver just a few days ago.
CPU temps look good - highest I've seen is 72C, but mostly 65C to 69C - You can see some photos in previous postings.
CPU has always passed all tests.

Thanks for the software links!

Only options left are...

#1 Run the system in windows safe mode to see if the 124 blue screen goes away.
#2 Keep increasing the vcore to see if the 124 blue screen goes away.
#3 Test your cpu in another rig to see if you can replicate the 124 blue screen.
#4 Use a known good working Q6600 in your machine to see if the 124 blue screen goes away.
#5 Replace the motherboard to see if the 124 blue screen goes away.

Replacing the video card should be your last concern as a unstable cpu will make the entire system unstable. Could you upload your latest .dmp to a file hosting website so I can download it and check it out?

Yes, this seems to be the next logical steps.

New parts will have to wait till next payday at end of August...  :-(

Cool GTX
Known Asus issue with BIOS "corruption"

Time to do the "BIOS dance"

1) Boot into BIOS
2) Copy your current settings - Camera works nice or save a profile if that option is available on your MB
3) select default settings
4) save BIOS
5) reboot & enter BIOS (again)
6) edit BIOS (put your changes back in) (or load from a saved profile)
7) save BIOS (again) make the changes you need like memory voltage
8) Reboot PC

This is the "BIOS dance" --- just a phrase I coined, cause that is a lot of steps

Might work, and it is FREE to try.......

***** What are the GPU temps ? use GPU-z

Choose sensor tab

Go bottom left select "Log to file"

Tell it where to save to and Name the file.

Run system, do what ever crashes it most,. the file will capture the info

Now if your system runs for awhile file will get long, we can look at just the last few lines usually.

This will capture power, bus, temps - use the default settings - you can change it to log only once every 10 seconds instead of once a second, but you might miss the pre-crash info

*****Windows Device manager clean ? ****** no issues

I'll check back tomorrow .... after 3:30 AM on the East Coast
