Yah I know about that. Eveyone says go to the forums, but I can't just select "Auto notify me when Jacob F is announcing that 30 cards will be fought over by 10,000 people in the span of a second". Plus Ive beem burned twice now.
The first being that EVGA wants you to setup an account before purchasing, which is terrible. But I wouldn't have known because that's not an option unless you try to buy something or go way the hell out of your way.
And the second being Jacob saying "we're selling more later this week" which aka means today. So here's me at work all day like an idiot, and not 10 minute after I get home, turn on the wifi, do I get the classic "Gtx 1080 ftw just went up!" Followed by "And they sold out". (BTW this was Tuesday and Wednesday for future thread readers).
And I'm just left here sitting like, what am I supposed to do? So I do research and apparently most people that get cards are using bots to auto purchase things for them, but I don't know where or how to use one of those so that's out of the question. Then I check everywhere else looking to buy one, and it's like people taking pennies and marking the price up to a crisp $10,000. Even though these sellers don't have stock either.
All I want to do is build my first gaming pc, and I won't be able to for what looks like until I'm well into college.
I'm at the point where I just want to invest my money into a mutual fund, and in 10 years I'll of waited long enough and have enough money to buy two EVGA gtx 1080 ftw's.
