Yikes, all of this news about the Amazon FTW pre-orders is nuts.  Seems like the general consensus is a ship date of July 15th at the earliest.

The May 31st pre-order day was a bit of a disaster from my perspective based on my experience.  The EVGA US site was getting locked up on my end to the point that it failed during several checkouts.  Meanwhile my Amazon Prime alarm went off and I pre-ordered the FTW from Amazon as a backup thinking it would arrive mid June while still attempting EVGA US.  And now all of this delay news.

In retrospect, I would have tried to order from Newegg more aggressively or attempted on multiple computers simultaneously.

I did a PC build in late April and put in a 4gb GTX 960 to hold me over until the EVGA 1080 FTW was available.

It seems silly to worry about this so much, however I have decided to go with a Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming 1080 from Newegg if it pops up before the Amazon pre-order ships...

1070 SC in stock

Edit: Sold out

I wondered how many did evga have in stock? I got the email and within seconds I got to my computer and was able to add it to my cart, by the time I logged in into paypal (40 secs tops) the card was sold :( . If I was able to add it to my shopping cart at least give me a few seconds to pay for it! Such a terrible tease. This situation is getting ridiculous

BHPhoto CSR told me this morning, based on EVGA quantities expected next week, my 1080 FTW order will not be fulfilled.  I ordered on June 4, a few minutes after they re-opened for business on Saturday.  They do not have any timeframe due to lack of shipment and allocation information.  I mentioned the pre-orders started on Friday and continued throughout the weekend... can they tell me my place in line based on my order#?  I expected and got the "no" response.  They did mention they had over a 100 orders.  100? 200? 300?

Amazon's pre-order was hours...  BHPhoto's were days.  It took a couple shipments to fulfill EVGA pre-orders throughout the week.  Based on information about shipments in the US and non-US commitments, you do the math...

Almost snagged a MSI gaming X today, made the order confirmation email and CC pre-auth email from Chase, then BHPhoto gave the processing error email... insufficient stock..   It's the same for everyone...

Howlingwolf, just like Nvidia has done in the past, you will get a runaround if you're trying to "understand" what's going on. Like I said before, order from your "local online stores", and save yourself some time. Good luck.

I'd like to congratulate you on reading my story and summarizing it.

The fact the "woman got 10,000 from Microsoft" is irrelevant to the topic of the 1080/1070 being in stock.

It is meant to be an illustration of my actual point, which you missed. It was never meant to be directly relevant to the 1080/1070 being in stock. It was about the companies refusing to see us as clients but rather as consumers. Meaning that they are currently thinking, and actually getting away with, that we are not the ones paying their bills. Thinking that they can live on without our purchases.

They are creating their own time-bombs right here, right now. Whether or not you and they decide to see it, is up to you and them.

We are consumers! LOL. When you buy something, you are a consumer. hehe

One thing you need to understand Howlingwolf, is that you are not going to get any information. Nobody is going to come out, point blank, and say they dropped the ball on supply the customers what they want. And You and I both know Nvidia will deny their co-partner (which makes the silicone) is having issues making the GPUs. How would you react if Nvidia came out and admitted they are having problems getting the silicone made on these GPUs? It sounds to me like this series is going to fail by hearing that. It would be very embaressing if they came out and made this statement that their other partners are having troubles.... They definitely don't want AMD hearing that either. Let's hope for the best...
