Finally caught an in stock product I see. Hope it gets there quickly and safely. Looking forward to seeing your results.

The Egg had stock at just the right time for me to run across, so I picked up one of the 1070 SC cards. If things go well and I can sell off a couple more pieces of clutter, I might be able to get my 2nd shortly. Crossing fingers, knocking on wood, all that jazz.

i guess i'll make note now instead of later but i am re-running my tests as i recently learned that even though all my hardware is pcie 3.0 compliant i was running at pcie 2.0 speeds. i had to force enable pcie 3.0 on my system for it to run at those speeds. but i currently only have 3 finished units so i don't have enough data to properly compare but i know that there will be a slight increase.

Most likely you won't see any change. Folding is not a bandwith intensive application. It uses a lot of core power but not a lot of data transfer over the PCI-e lanes.

If this was a 970 i would be inclined to agree without a second thought. but this is a pascal GPU so i have to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Is there anyone running a single 1070? I don't really care much for ppd estimates, and I would like to look into a possible update for the folding rig only. I am curious what actual production lows are on a single 1070. Currently, 2 970's are getting around a 500k low without being uninterrupted.

my numbers are a single 1070... and i assume by low you are implying minimum PPD values? if so then 500K would be a solid minimum ppd estimate for the 1070.

That is what I am looking for. Like I said, running 2 970's, they have shown an uninterrupted point production of low 500k but a high around 580k.if the low for the 1070 is 500k, it will be worth the price to remove 2 GPU's and replace with 1.

OK, im 7 units in now after i corrected that pcie buss problem and so far its a 10% improvement over previous numbers to ~630K PPD. i am going to let this run a couple more days and if it stays this way or if it falls off i'll let you know. if this does stabilize 10% higher than before i'll correct my first post numbers with the new data.

You are awesome!  Thank you for everything bud.

Increasing the PCI bus to 3.0 does help.  I am running a X79 mobo with 3960x and running the NVIDIA patch to take it to 3.0 ups performance 10-15% Folding.  At 2.0 my cards in GPUZ where each at eating 49-51 percent of the PCI bus.  Going to 3 they are now at 26-30% each.
