Ok so putting DSR x4 maxing out the control panel and playing every game i got at 60 fps solid makes me not know what im talking about?
What is this high school where i gotta take pictures of the panel and in game to get a high five?

do you even realize what you are claiming? 5k is 14,745,600 pixels which makes it nearly TWICE as demanding as 4k which is 8,294,400 pixels. a 1080 cant even get 60 fps in all games maxed at 4k yet you claim to do that at 5k. so either you are playing some much older games that are not the least bit demanding or you are not even selecting 5120x2880 in the games.

I max out the control panel set to dsr x4 and my frame rate sits at 59.9 on both ffxiv and the division(though i dont have scaling maxed the game randomly crashes) I can wrap up all kinds of screens for you bro but youll still find something to argue about.
I didnt create the tread to have a pissing contest. I was simple asking others what their experience was overclocking.

do you even know what you are doing? if you are not selecting 5120x2880 in the game then you are not running 5k. just basic common sense would tell you that you are not getting 60 fps on max settings in The Division at  5k. AGAIN that is nearly TWICE the freaking pixels of 4k and you cant even get 60 fps on max settings in that game at 4k never mind 5k.  

You just dont quit do you. Im not selecting 5k(in game). I simple said I have a 1440p monitor max out the control panel DSR included and still get 60 fps that much I know. Now if you dont have any advice or input on overclocking a gtx 1080. Create another thread where people can chime in and compare their computer intelligence to the vast amount that you have. 

you clearly have some type of problem with basic comprehension. you say over and over that you have DSR at 4x and all settings maxed and still get 60 fps. now you finally say that you dont even select 5120x2880 in the game which means you are NOT even running at 4x DSR. in other words having DSR factors on in the CP means NOTHING if you are not actually enabling the higher res in the games. good grief at the nonsense around here.

I dont know what I did to you bro, I said from the start what I did. All you had to do was go hay set the rez in game and see what you get but no you just started to attack me and you still getting after it. Ease up on the salt bro it def aint good for your blood pressure

I am running an EK Waterblock, so that most likely is helping, but I was able to get a stable (2 hours stress testing) clock of 2126MHz and Memory @ 5500MHz with my SC.  I only had it installed for a day to test it, as I am in the middle of a new build, but plan on playing with the voltage a bit more once completed to see if I can kick the clocks a tad bit higher.  Temps never got above 45C.

that does, indeed, look pretty awesome. makes me want to consider watercooling my 1080 FE.
 
i'm a first time OC'er, so still learning from reading u guys' posts. i just downloaded MSI Afterburner this morning and started to mess around with my Founders Edition 1080 for a bit. i wanted to push it for a little bit with the Unigene Heaven benchmarks because of some of the temp horror stories i've been reading.
 
right out of the box, on stock settings, the card boosted right up to 1911 during the first benchmarks. i was able to get the card's clock speed up to 2139 and about +350 (i forgot the actual offset) on the memory. the benchmarks started crashing after i put the memory up to around +400. with the fans on 100% (for benching purposes), the card hovered around 60*c to 63*c. i'm pretty happy about that because of some bad reviews stating temps in the 80's+.
 
my MoBo already auto OC'd my CPU to 4.6GHz, so i'll probably be gaming with my GPU @ around +50 to +75 on the clock speeds and about +100 to +125 on the memory clocks. i've already set a custom fan curve in Afterburner and it's keeping my temps in the 60's while staying fairly quiet. the GPU doesn't really get noticeable until the fans ramp up over 75%.
 
all in all, i'm pretty happy with the purchase. i just hate the damn green lettering because it's throwing off my white color scheme!!!
 

 
You could always go with something like this to hide the green and stay within your color theme.

Not sure about the spacers there, but it looks like if you flipped your power supply upside down you could be drawing cool ambient air from underneath the case into your PSU, which will vent it straight out the back of the case. Instead your drawing the warm air inside your case to cool the PSU. Not sure how much practical difference it would make. If your case isn't on legs that lift it up a little the airflow might be restricted down there. Still, have you considered doing this?

I've had a couple hrs to sit with my 1080. I have it +85 +300 with 120% power stock voltages temps dont pass 67c.
Its stable with fire strikes stress test however soon as I tick +90 on the clock it fails and fails hard.
Does any one have some experience increasing the voltage on a 1080 like how much is acceptable and safe etc.
Im not looking for alot but a even +100 would make my day.

Ive had TWO now that have both done this,  what are the chances of getting 2 different vcards that can only OC to the EXACT same numbers without crashing?  Not to mention 3 as you are at the same numbers im crashing at.  I see jayztwocents cranked his up to like 200+ on the GPU with no issues on his Doom vid for the 1080 SC

i thought about installing the PSU upside down, but the upside down lettering really irked me. i'm really big on attention to detail.
 
i have it on Hybrid Mode and the PSU's fans never even turn on anyways, so it's pretty moot.
