Wasn't home yesterday to do any testing. Pretty busy week for me so I probably won't get to testing most solutions until the weekend. Believe I bought a corsair 850w PSU.

I had the same problem with my old yellow corsair TX650w... unstable pc, random crashes, it was 8 year old.

Went and bought a new one, corsair HX750I... every thing works like a charm and i just got my evga 1080sc delivered
so now i can play my games again.

My suspicion would be a cooling or power issue.  It runs for X minutes and then crashes often is something like that.  Could be a bad card also.  I have a 860W corsair digital PSU.  Nothing beats clean steady power.  One area you never should go cheap on is the power supply.  Stick with large well regarded brands and go for more watts than what you need at the time.  The EVGA power calculator on the site can help you see what PSU you should buy.

Do a fresh clean install of Windows. It will erase your problems, wiping the drivers clean wont do much.

^^ This makes me chuckle every time.  Thank you.

This is not a good way to start a troubleshooting process.. There are MANY other options that should, and need to be taken before really having to do a clean install of Windows.  That route should be a last resort if everything else fails.  But, that's the easy advice to give if you don't know how to troubleshoot properly.

I am quite confident the EVGA community here in the forums can offer some better alternatives.. which they already have.  :)

I've done a complete wipe of the graphics drivers and installed them fresh.

How did you go about doing this?

Revo Uninstaller. After uninstalling it also searches for any traces of any type left over to delete as well.

Do #1 & #2 listed here then go test your games. Report back with your results.

Had some spare time. I followed these steps. GTA online completely froze up the computer instead of just exiting with an error. Ran for as long as getting into the world and doing a mission. It locked up after turning in the mission. Believe the last time I saw heat report the hottest it got was 83c.
