The problem is, they have already said that the Hybrid will not be a 14+3 I believe in the stream they said it was a 10? Less power available and on water... I really don't get why they are not doing a block for this card. Makes absolutely 0 sense.

The hybrid isn't a hydrocopper, they are two completely different cards and pcbs

Also 10 phases doesn't change the power to the card at all. 5 phases, 10 phases, and 14 phases deliver the same exact amount of power. Phases only smooth out the power delivery, not deliver more.

On air/water, phases will make minimal differences. This has been shown hundreds of times as people complain that the extra phases don't help their card overclock because they can't get it cold enough. The extra memory phases will probably help get smoother memory operations though, having 2 compared to 1 on the reference cards.

Yeah it has the 8pin x2 on it is what I meant for the more power, but just saw the Hybrid does this time around I guess. I know they are two different cards, the hybrid is a closed loop water one though, so still watercooled.

The phases should help either way, no? I have read articles that mention that, maybe I am being misled by articles and user reviews of some of the older cards?

Anyways, point is they really should make a block for an enthusiast overclocking card.

Kingpincooling.com has lots of enthusiast cooling blocks. ;-)

All jokes aside, the vrm upgrade may help a little, especially having more than one vrm for the memory, but it doesn't change the fact that the core will be 100% the limiting factor whether it has 5 phases or 10/14. The core can not exceed it's own limits. If it is a bad overclocker, extra power pins, and extra vrm phases will do nothing. If it is a golden chip on a reference 5+1 board, it may be limited by the single 8 pin, but the vrm will not be to blame in that case. The lack of more power will be to blame.

Too many people assume that because there are more phases and the card is considered "enthusiast" that it is guaranteed to out perform a stock card. This is a falsity and a trap to some that are not aware. These cards have the potential, but not a guarantee, to outperform the reference series.

Haha, I'll just use LN2 on the 1080!

Just an FYI, Hydro Copper blocks aren't made by us this round. Not sure who EVGA has gone with, they haven't told us a thing.

There won't be any EK blocks for non-ref EVGA cards this round as of this post.

What a shame. So the 1080 Classified will not have a waterblock? That has scotched my plans.

Still hoping for EK to have a waterblock available for the 1080 Classy shortly after it launches... as I definitely plan on putting it under water asap.  Had a hell of a time getting as block for my 780 Classy when it was released.. mainly due them being sold out almost as soon as they came in stock.  I'm sure it'll be the same this time around.  So, not holding my breath.

Why? so you cant use the new bridge? Find a company that supports the bridge and the block. Remember 700 series and 900 series both were handled by ek and both had delays for the hydrocopper. EK didnt even makes a 980ti classy specific waterblock last time. Hopefully this new company can handle the order better.

Hydro Copper look as dream, even nicer than Hybrid.
This big part with EVGA GeForce HydroCopper logo give so nice look to card... amazing.
I tried Classified, K|NGP|N Classified, and both look amazing in my case, I tried and one EVGA reference my next wish is HydroCopper one day.
This would be right time for Hydro Copper. Hydro Copper with 8+8 pin are big plus from my perspective.

This morning is so nice for me when I saw such good new EVGA series.
All of them are nice, even little ACX 3.0 will keep in shadow graphics with similar design from other brands.

If the Hydrocopper carries an FTW or Classified PCB, it is going to be an amazing buy! That would definitely be worth the price.

I know, Hydro Copper was definitely nicest card ever build. When I imagine graphic card that's EVGA Hydro Copper, but I didn't compare them with other cards. Except that new EVGA GTX1080 Hybrid is with GTX580 Classified for me one of nicest card ever made, it's nicer than previous Hybrid.
I would like so much to build watercooling, that would be EKWB Predator + EVGA GTX1080 Hydro Copper. But problem is because for same price I could buy EVGA GTX1080Ti Hybrid. There are many nice choices really. I only know I don't want reference version card with 8 pin after I read more about temps, power, etc... GTX1080 cry for 8+8 pin, nothing less. You connect nicely two separate 8pin VGA, no free 2pin connectors and that's it.
Clean and nice cable management and enough power.

This post, this is the one I'm liking and choose to believe! Alright so no EK blocks (which is a shame, I've always like theirs) but some sort of EVGA blocks for Classy? I'm game!
