any chance that  ek wb gtx 780 classified that is now on my 980ti classified will work on 1080 classified as well?
that would be a big push to get the new classified in my case (and i guess not just me )

Will the FTW have an EK block?

Also the EK blocks DO NOT support the new SLI bridge, they don't fit. But the original bridges do. At least on the reference cards. So far.

In looking at the pics, it seems the problem is that the plastic section of the EK block covers the SLI connectors on the GPU side of the card. I'm thinking the problem can be rectified with a fine tooth saw and some sandpaper.

I'm more curious why the EK 1080 block won't work with the factory Nvidia back-plate.

Since the EK base block doesn't support the new SLI bridge, I'm really hoping they announce a classified waterblock in conjunction with EVGA alongside this card's release. (Similar to the 680 Classified block) It really doesn't make sense to keep it on air alone, most people getting this highly overclockable version will be wanting to put a waterblock on it and know what they are getting into with this specific card.

I keep saying to my self that I don't want to install a water tank and pump in my computer system. !!!

You don't have to. What I did was make an external watercooling box for mine with water lines feeding in and out the back two holes in my case (had 2 holes that fit the water lines perfect -- Level 10 GT.) Pump, 2x rads, 8 fans, Bitspower molex+fan power board (forget the name of it x-power?), and res are all in the external box. This way, the only thing in the actual computer are the lines and waterblocks. I like it this way so I can do maintenance on the watercooling stuff separate from the computer case. :)

Just an FYI, Hydro Copper blocks aren't made by us this round. Not sure who EVGA has gone with, they haven't told us a thing.

There won't be any EK blocks for non-ref EVGA cards this round as of this post.

Hmm that's not good. I was holding out for a Classified with an EK block.

I'm really hoping EVGA has a surprise in store for this then...

Thank you for the information though!

Interesting, so EVGA is doing water-block in-house ?
I sure hope they know what they are doing.
EK had been trusted source of water blocks for many years.

I'm still getting hydro copper from EVGA.

Asked in the live twitch giveaway tonight. EVGA is not making/selling one for Classy or FTW either.

That's incredibly silly if true...who are they marketing this card to if it is specifically for high overclocking? There's a reason people with Classifieds use waterblocks/LN2/etc...

I just asked as well and they said there were no plans by EVGA and to look to third parties... :(

well, there will be pots on kingpin cooling if noone makes the Waterblock. I could see bits power doing it this round.

It seems that ek and evga are not seeing eye to eye anymore, which much is sad to hear.
