Apart from that i really really want to Keep the classified, because ist the better built of the two, but if I can't watercool it, then it's useless to me.

I think there's still 780 blocks available at ekwb.

Is that 780 block full length or shorter. Looks like it is shorter than the 980ti classified block. Pictures are deceiving though.

It's this one: ekwb.com/wp-content/uploads/images/FC780-GTX-Classy_1200.jpg
Basically, it covers what needs to be covered and does a good job at it, ref:my post back at page 5

EK-Luc Can you get the measurements from the pci plate to the center of the terminals? I need to know how far the terminals are off from the EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal+Nickel (Rev.2.0) So I know if I need to completely get different fittings to go from the GPU to my Kryo m.2 waterblock. The following link is the area I'm talking about. It appears from images there is a pretty good difference between the distance of g 1/4 ports on the two blocks. http://imgur.com/oYClaaj Or at least the measurement from the edge of the block (i/o plate side) to the middle of each terminal. I can only assume the block fits to the edge of the pcb since there are no installed photos. That measurement will be close enough for what I need.

Sorry I was out for the weekend.

Since I don't have any of those blocks in hands, I can't measure them. Sorry again.

This forum again not notifying me of reply's lol.
You don't have a 1080 FTW block to measure?

The "980ti classified" variant is simply a 780 classified block.

I'll be waiting for that Alphacool version if it is true.  I want a full block without seeing any of the PCB period.

Is alphacool working on a waterblock, like all their waterblocks are, in that their not true fullcover blocks ? If zou check some review of their waterblocks, youll see that allthough it cools the gpu okay, the VRMs are badly cooled, apart from that it has high restriction rating compared to true blocks like those from EKWB, Aquacomputer, etc.
Thats why i decided in the end against it. Also 8 to 12 weeks seems like a lot of time, 3 months for a waterblock, i mean, whats the deal ? do they have a pentium 286 that makes the calculations for the waterblock ???

I think in the end im going to return the classified and get a FTW 1080, just because no proper waterblocks are available. I would get a zotac arctic storm if they were available.
Besides, the FTW 1080 is 100 something euro cheaper, these can go to EKWB for the waterblock.

Just a heads up, but the ArcticStorm is available on Newegg right now
