My Gigabyte AIO Hybid is finally being packaged from newegg. I opted for overnight shipping but probably won't get until Monday. I'll report in on temps and noise. I am quite familiar with AIO GPU's I previously came from 4x Titan X hybrids so I know what to look out for such as pump noise.
I have been looking from outside this forum since May 29th as my #1 choice is the EVGA 1080 Hybrid. This is my first post since then. I gathered a lot of usefull information posted here including reading the GIGABYTE 1080 Waterforce being available at newegg. So I decided to go for it (Waterforce)......but noooooooo......Product available at 6PM Pacific time on newegg, at 5:59PM, the retail posted ($769.99) with new message "OUT OF STOCK"......
The day after the sale I asked if newegg sees any new Waterforce orders, none at this moment. I asked, how many did come in.....Get this.....30 fricking units of Gigabyte 1080 Waterforce :( Congrats seyumi, you were 1 of 30. Newegg told me they are filling auto notify first. That was the reason 0 inventory, they were already sold. The experience just took the wind out of me. Hyped up for months. Disappointed.
Now this is what I think with all manufactures of the 1080. Production is so slow in producing product the quantities are not worth even listing. Get 30 in, tick off 5,000 peeps. The pictures EVGA brags about of "more coming", are small. one pallet. NOT TRUCKLOADEDS. EVGA Hybrid will be no different. Just a small handful on first few availability. And then the long process of months of out of stocks. Since "most" will not pay the high price of the 1080Ti, this maybe a better option to secure a extreme 1080, vs waiting for months, and months, of out of stocks. Getting a 1080Ti you know is next month!! August!!
You do realize that when this EVGA Hybrid is first available, it will be a very small quanitity. Most will not get this item. My hopes just got busted with the Waterforce experience. Sucks, I don't see truckloads of this video card. Competition, speed to shelf drove getting the small quantity that no one can use.
Let me be clear, I don't hate EVGA, I personally have install many of their fine products: EVGA 4GB 980, before that the EVGA 680/480. EVGA 1000 watt power supply with current build. Great customer service. For these reasons, EVGA Hybrid is my first choice. But the wait of months and months, I am loosing patience. And just maybe pay the price in August :) Thanks for all this usefull information, I have learned a lot.
