ever hear "don't hate the playa, hate the game."?

I don't blame the gougers at all, good for them if they're able to ninja these cards before anyone else and sell them for a profit. It's not their fault, they're allowed to because of Nvidia.

Everyone always throws around supply and demand every single time as if companies aren't aware by now, when really, they appear to depend on it to build hype for their product.
Would it make too much sense to produce 5,000 chips versus 500 before putting your product on the market?
It's really not that hard to understand, why else would a company release a product without ample stock, let alone properly planning and working with other manufacturers such as EVGA to produce a nice amount before selling them? Connect the dots, supply and demand is only a problem when you rush, don't plan, or blatantly use it as a marketing tool.

PasTecHi
Well the thing is if they make 100 and put it on the market and 50 snipers buy it. Means there are 50 legitimate people who wanted to buy it but aint gonna pay 1400dollars for it. Means they can make 50 more for the 50 that didnt buy it which from the 50 only 15 bought and the 35 others, the snipers bouht it..and so go on and go on they make more money. I think thats why they dont even care. If they did care i dont expect any staff to come on the forums to prove me wrong but instead show us on the online retailer websites that they do care by doing something with those snipers.
And well i honestly dont mind sales because lets be honest when you have a business and you have merchants thats getting like 2 years old getting dust and probably dont have much value anymore, you put up some sales to try getting rid of most of them and still make money. Thats just how it is. But the fact that people want to legitimate buy your product but in order to get their hands on one is to go balls deep on the snipers or wait till evga make more so they can make more money, thats kind of sad. And its not only on evga, same goes for gigabyte/msi/nvidia/zotac/amd/asus all.

I agree. That's just the way it is. It's business. I don't mind sales either; they are often great. I'm just disappointed that we got a simple sale this year rather than a scavenger hunt like in previous years. I realize that they were super time consuming to set up, but I enjoyed them and I appreciated all the work that EVGA put into them. It's hard to not be disappointed that they didn't bother this year. I'm sure they have other things to deal with, but that doesn't prevent my disappointment.

Yes, I've heard that phrase many times. It's just frustrating to see it going on. It happens with every new product introduced I guess. I agree Nvidia is the real one to blame here. The hype train has been rolling along for two months now.

That's noble of you, but you could have joined the gougers and paid for part of your hybrid with it. ;)

Good point. With my luck the minute I put it on Ebay the market would be flooded with product and I would get screwed. lol

Lol. Well, your luck thus far seems to be better than mine. I have not so much as seen any of these cards in stock at any point, and I check as constantly as I can at while at work.
