I was about to go with SeaHawk X too, but for no apparent reason MSI delayed shipment for that model so now I have either to wait until 29 July or hope to get an Hybrid card before that day.

I actually bought GTX 1070 SeaHawk X and send it back immediately, it had a ridiculous coil whine in my silent build. The second problem was the fan no where to be controlled base on the GPU temp. Other wise the card peformed well, i didn't OC it manually i only used the MSI app. My low temp was 30C and max 49-54C (depend on the fan RPM) it was running 1200RPM most of the time giving me a result of 54C. And yes it was so quite i could've hear a small coil whine even when not gaming.
If my first EVGA card dream wont happen then i will still go for the MSI instead of Gigabyte Waterforce, simply because you have to cut the fan cable in order to install a custom one which make no sense in my opinion.

Actually the seahawks come with the founders pcb and it already comes overclocked. Where was the coil wine coming from? Not from the watercoolerkit right?

I can confirm 100% it's Coil Whine, i tried to play games like Tomb Raider with my PG279Q and the coil whine was insane unless i lock the frame to 60FPS. But hey what's the point of my 165Hz monitor if i need to lock the frame rate in order to avoid the coil whine?

144hz here i know the struggle of that :')
My other struggle is my 970 having to lower graphics to maintain that 144fps xD
But there are some people that have coil wines and some doesnt...maybe you had the bad one :s
The video  petmic send from the 1080 waterforce noice im not sure if its the 1080 waterforce or 980ti because they are being released on the newegg market tomorrow so i am not sure if that video is legit 1080 or not

I would hop on that $429 hybrid in a heartbeat but its actually $479 and you need to use a MIR. I have a guy selling me a used 980 ti hybrid for $400. Got to hop on that but I guess you can get in the upgrade program with the one on this site.

The problem is, it's not even 50 / 50 to get a good GPU with out a coil whine. It seem like most of the 10x0 serie GPU having this issue (if you serach on google). How ever, i have faith in EVGA i know they are really good company and their support is the best, that's why i'm here. I never had a EVGA GPU before, i'm trying to move from Asus product to EVGA.

'Soon' is actually a bad sign. I think end of July seems like the most realistic ETA. I'm now certain they're not going to make any Hybrids until they fulfil their FTW demand (they both use the same PCB).

That would suck. They would lose a lot of customers to the competition.

The thing is demand has already exceeded expectations for EVGA and the 1080, so they won't mind. From their point of view they're doing the best they can. If customers choose to go to others, nothing can really be done about that from EVGA's point of view. Even if they lose sales, overall demand probably massively outweighed their expectations, so they're doing much better than they ever thought they would for this launch. I think there were definitely supply side issues but it seems like no one - the big aftermarket brands or Nvidia - expected the 1080 to sell as well as they're doing.
