As long as it's applied correctly (without any friction/flaws) you definitely don't need to. Just make sure your GPU is cleaned properly with isopropyl alcohol or thermal paste remover. I always use a thermal paste remover and then a surface purifier to make it look and feel completely untouched.

I'm used to using alcohol and a coffee filter but not familiar with a surface purifier. Link plz?

Alcohol is not good at all for cleaning paste. I don't know how people success to clean with that.
It's not much easier than with normal water... Isopropyl is perfect or Arctic Cleaner.
People could think that Arctic Cleaner not worth before they use once, than they will never change paste without that.
First time when I bought everybody ask me and fast I stayed with empty bottle of Cleaner. Later I bought and now I keep for self.
It's not problem price, but I need every time to import from other countries and worth only if I order something more.
Or shipping is more than product.

I just added it to my cart. It's $479.99 minus a $50 mail in rebate.

I don't understand why EVGA has to be the last when it comes to Watercooling cards. I've been waiting for 1080 Hybrid since the day Nvidia announce the 1080 and still we got no update from EVGA, all they telling us so far is ''soon'' but 2 months is no where to be ''soon'' I'll wait one more week, then i will completely give up on hope for EVGA.

Would be nice if a mod can confirm that it wont be this month so you save my time, thank you!

I clean my paste off with mentholated alcohol. Get at any hardware store in the paint department. Nice and cheap as well.

Edit- Denatured Alcohol. Pretty powerfull stuff. I use it and lint free cloths. Can also be used in an old fashioned camp stove.

I think people are mixing up names. some might say they use "alcohol" to clean their cpu/gpu. but they actually are using/meaning "Isopropyl Alcohol". It's what i use, right now i think my current bottle is 91%, but if you have the option to get 99%, might as well.

I am tempted for that 980Ti Hybrid... But (hopefully) this close before the 1080 comes out I will keep my feet still. The 300€ higher price might not be justified by the performance, but well.. 70W lower TDP will hopefully keep my room a bit less hot and the 8GB keep it a bit more future-proof :>

i sold one of my 980ti's last month for $550, this is tempting me too. 980ti SLI setup was pretty good for 4k.... or wait for a 1080 hybrid, with intent to get a 2nd a year from now or so.
