I got my EVGA 980 Hybrid, but this year for tax return I am going to upgrade it to the 1080 hybrid or 1080ti hybrid if that is an option. Sucks because my 980 hybrid is still a relatively good card, but I wont be able to do much with it :(

Your card is good but you can get good price for GTX980 Hybrid and with GTX1080 Hybrid in games you will feel similar as with GTX980 SLI.
Depend of scaling in specific games of course... But with single GTX1080 or even GTX1080Ti if you can afford performance increase will be amazing.
More video memory is very important factor.
EVGA Pascal series Is attractive from every side, ACX 3.0 with white LED special Classified with wide PCB and EVGA Power Link Adapter, Hybrids are elegant more than both models before, nice Hydro Copper will be available later.

Someone will make a waterblock for it.
Either EVGA will do it or one of the other companies. Maybe classified won't make sense this time round, or just take a few months to figure out the trick to pascal. They've already announced the intention of creating hydro copper and hybrid cards. Just gotta wait while they sort it out.

"Mid July"

We are still on schedule....If i dont see nothing from the hybrid end july im going for the gigabyte waterforce 1080...and if i dont hear nothing from that either, i'll prob buy an msi gaming or a sea hawk even tho i didnt want the sea hawk that much

That's why I sold off my 980 ti hybrids. Value is dropping fast for the used 900 series. Better to get $450 per now then $200 if I'm lucky when the 1080 ti launches and the market is flooded with 1080s.

I have an idea that maybe EVGA can consider. Clearly this thread is proof there are many people interested in this particular product(Hybrid). Obviously we don't know how many Hybrids are coming(EVGA might). Why can't you set up a system were you give people in this thread first crack at the Hybrid. Lets say you notify us via private message with a link to purchase a unit and that link expires after 24 hours?

Clearly we want your product because we are here patiently waiting. This way you stop the scalpers from buying the initial run and charging some outrageous price for it on Ebay.  Also it would keep some of your customers from buying the competition's product instead.

Just a thought.

This is why I stepped up my 980 ti Hybrid SLI to 1080 FE SLI so I wouldn't lose out on too much money due to price dropping of the 980 ti's.

IMO EVGA should have a preorder system for a certain cards. If you are willing to plunk down full MSRP for a card (hundreds of dollars mind you) ahead of release (perhaps well ahead), that should get you a spot in line (maybe a limited number of spots). I would make the deposit none refundable after a certain period of time as an added layer of security for EVGA (item could be returned for a refund once received). I would also not make it possible to preorder, cancel and then preorder again.

I would do this for the XX80/XX80 Ti Hybrid, Classified and K|NGP|N.

The real wrinkle with this is that since EVGA basically sells out for the first month regardless, they have little incentive. Not to mention the money it would cost to integrate a system like this into the website and backend systems, etc. I would not be surprised if the cost/benefit for this does not turn out positive. IMO the only real benefit is providing customers with a less nightmarish buying experience (IE fastest finger/internet connection battle royale).

TLDR... probably... not going to happen.
