Im new to this site, but I have lurked on this site for a little while now.
There was a struggle for me between the Fury X and 980ti hybrid, but the 980ti hybrid costs almost the same as 1080 hybrid I wanted to get a strong and low temp gpu that was with pascal architecture.
I have eyeballed the 1080 seahawk for a while due its design that features black and white. Most of my hw is black and white aswell so I unintentionally got that theme going on.
One thing I didnt like about 980ti seahawk was the fact that it had blue LED lights on fan and thats a no go for me. I dunno how the 1080 seahawk is gonna be. Both models had slightly transparent/translucent? fan blades so if seahawk is color LED fan I will skip on it.

Now for the evga 1080 hybrid, I read that 980ti hybrid was 10 C cooler than seahawk model and that is very impressive. I would imagine that the 1080 hybrid is almost the same cooling and therefore much better than 1080 seahawk. Then I saw something on on evga site that the evga 1080 hybrid took 2.5 pcie slot which means I cant use the first 3 pcie slots and therefore losing 1 slot, anyone know if this is true. Because I really dont want a gpu that takes over 2 pcie slots, that is the limit for me. But if the 1080 hybrid takes 2 slots I will cancel my seahawk and wait for the hybrid.

we will know ones its released late June.
P.S. the EVGA was 10degree cooler because if im not mistaken the sea hawk comes pre-overclocked while the evga u need to manual overclock it. EVGA Hybrid can be OC higher than the sea hawk too

PasTecHi
I am here getting on the net Every single day untill i see the EVGA Hybrid come available.....i realy need one. I wanted to buy the founders edition and probably try swapping the 980 cooling kit but i heard they have a different design on the 1080 and would not fit. Even saw some video's on youtube and some images on the net.
Hopefully end of the month i can see an evga hybrid for sale somewhere.......
How much longer do we have to wait? :/
I saw the msi seahawk 1080 for 749.99 on newegg but i refuse to buy it. EVGA Hybrid is better than the seahawk. Dont want to switch to another brand if evga always worked fine for me

this would be a bad idea in my opinion. because you would be putting a water cooler on the reference design, vs if you buy the actual hybrid you are getting a better board since it uses the FTW edition board. so you are basically getting a water cooled FTW vs getting a water cooled reference.

you are indeed correct but, i am waiting on the price to see what i will do, if the hybrid is more than 100bucks expensive i'd prob get the reference and a h60 because well, for some reason i feel like the ftw board vs the reference ones i try overclocking it as high and stable as posible i'd prob have 5 fps difference lol

ohh ok. That explains it why the hybrids are cooler than seahawks.Im not gonna OC the gpu so I dont really care for that, but I do however want the coolest gpu out of those two.
I might cancel the seahawk and wait for the hybrid myself,I just hope it wont get much more expensive than seahawk.

I need a new card soon. I must be AIO water cooled. So if EVGA does not release their 1080 Hybrid soon I have to take my money to a different brand.

Really, Like Who?
It was EVGA that created the Hybrid.

where did u buy the seahawk 1080? Because i couldnt find any on the market. Well if you are not gonna worry about OCi'd still say keep the sea hawk because eve tho it comes pre-overclocked due watercooled it will stay cool and you will not feel any throttling at all like those ****ty founders edition cards are having atm. That sea hawk on full load would reach around 65degree while it needs to reach75 to 80 degree to start throttling..(i think)

i think he meant another company that sells them. For example Phanteks or EKWB installed blocks on the founders/custom 1080's and he just have to apply the loops.
Or go buy the MSI Seahawk 1080 lol

but the seahawk is still just a reference board. not worth it in my opinion. you cant be in that bad of a hurry for a card that you cant wait a month for a much better card.

A Water Block and the Hybrids are of two different Birds so to speak.
Water Block -V- All in One.
