Haven't been following this thread but does anyone know why the Hybrid kit for FTW is not yet available? I can understand the short supply of cards due to NVIDIA not having enough chips, but the kit is totally independent of chips isn't it?

Prob got something to do with supply for all the rma'd ftw cards. Unlucky me was able to get my order for 2 ftw hybrids when they released and I'm sending them back for refund cause I've been testing 1080 cards holding off a new build that's already been sitting for 2 months now ( :/ ) all on hold as I've been trying out many different sets of 1080s trying to find one that will run cool enough or water cooled.. wanted to exchange for the classifieds as I don't want to risk spending more months of rma cards left and right as I've read accounts of people still getting bad cards but they were out of classifieds. My local Mc has many classifieds in stock so I grabbed them.

Rma the cards and was told I have to pay return shipping even though the cards are defective due to the fact that I want a return. They would cover the shipping if I wanted an exchange. I still can't get over that but at least happy they allowed me a pass on the 15% restocking fees.

Well at least you have options, EVGA doesn't sell in Singapore so I had to order through Amazon. I'm having the black screen problem and the only choice I have now is RMA since EVGA Asia doesn't have step-up or advanced RMA. Actually they don't even have the Hybrid in Asia. Basically I'm now stuck with this card since it's been over 30 days since I received the card from Amazon.

Not sure I would buy another card from them again. EVGA's biggest plus point is their customer service but most of it is not available in Asia.

It's concerning that two 1080 hybrids aren't cooling enough for you. I've been reading about the difference between hybrid evga, msi, and gigabyte (which was briefly available on Amazon last night...but 1 per customer). I'm interested to know...why weren't you getting the cooling goals you wanted? Are you gaming or benchmarking? Do you think the cards were defective? I was reading the different hybrid systems cool core components vs whole cards, but I'm no expert on whch is better. Any of your experience/feedback would be helpful so I can better guide which would be best for me (planning to game at 4k 60 FPS) and want to keep cards cool simply for the lifespan of the card and avoid throttling/unsafe temps.

Cooling on the hybrids were fine! Just bad black screen 100% fan issue that's well known from the ftw cards and a lot of people have been rmaing them.

Was really looking forward to the Hybrid, but my 780 classy will have to keep on going strong while the issues are being fixed.

I just don't get the purpose of hybrid card... wasn't water cooling mean to eliminate dust collecting/noisy fans that are inferior in cooling??? What's all the hype? Why not just wait for HydroCopper? Which is superior in cooling, no dust, no noise....

lower temps and less noise. lower temps = more stable and higher boost clocks and OC's; while running cooler then fanned cards.

noisy fans, yes, i always replace stock rad fans. get higher quality fans that move more air while making less noise. i recommend noctua nf-f12's

i never heard anyone mention the dust collecting, that has to do with your case, air pressure and filters. hydro copper is still going to require a rad with a fan on it. same with this scenario, make sure you get quality fans!

though, yes the hydro removes the cards fan. BUT, with the hybrid cards it is normal to keep the cards fan at much lower speeds then it would be if you wasnt hydro. for instance my 980ti fan is set to never go above 35%. you can hear it under 40%. on top of that the hydro is going to cost much more when you add a pump, tubes, ran and fan.

Should be the ML120, as the radiator is 120mm, right?
