As tempting as it is to just buy another brand, I'd stick it out a little longer. Today was only the 2nd time (twice today) overall that the Hybrid was available for actual sale and not as a pre-order, no? It was up there for a good 10 minutes the 1st time today. Not a long time by any means I know, but it lasted longer than the usual 2 minute window. As of right now the FTW is still in stock on EVGA. I'd suspect that new batches will become available shortly as the standard FTW is appearing more often, slowly but surely.

I'm not all that worried about getting this quick since I have to wait a few months anyway and by then this should be a bit cheaper too! The wait is killing me though.. Wish i was magically rich :(

Me too... I could buy now but I want to wait new Radeon Vega. I can't fix later if someone better show up.
I just want to check and compare price-performance.
Than ASUS will launch Poseidon soon, some rumors about new Pascal generation.
We will see.

I got mine and found that the temps ran very high. Running Fallout 4 in 2560x1440 Ultra settings and I was hitting over 80c on it. Switched fan to other side to pull cool air from outside case and that had little effect. Tried stock fan and also Noctua 12F and still over 80. Plugged connector to motherboard and cranked fan to 100% and got into the mid-60's. Still not great. It seems the internal sensors just will not crank the fan up fast enough to keep the card cool. I was even getting 40-50c at idle. I don't think for a $700+ card we should have to manually crank up the rad fan every time we are going to play a game. This is essentially a gaming card and it should handle it on its own. I tried Speedfan as Jayz2cents recommended but it doesn't seem to recognize the fan rpm from my motherboard. Asus Z170-Deluxe.

Is there a way to tie in the onboard fan controller to the GPU temp to spin the fan up automatically when it gets hot? Any ideas? I'm really not impressed with these temps or maybe my card has a defective sensor. Thoughts?

Thanks

Those temps are way too high.  Mine is running 27C at idle and 54C under full load when benching (Unigine Heaven).  Temps are actually in the mid-40s when regular gaming.

Please verify that both the shroud fan and radiator fan are working properly.  A stray cable or even a defective fan would easily contribute to such high temps.

To be honest this card need one PCI bracket with fan control speed and possibility to customer connect
even two fans in Push-Pull and to turn fan speed. Same as on picture.

I would propose that before launch date.

Huh, so I would need to get out my seat and fiddle with that any time I wanted to adjust the fan speed? Sounds like a terrible idea :S

Just do what reviewers have mentioned and plug fan into motherboard for control via bios or software. Nothing stopping you doing this with 2 fans in push-pull.

GTX1080 FTW Hybrid installation completed.  Note that a fan guard is not included - I had to add one, which is an excellent idea should you install the radiator into a small form factor.  If not for the fan guard, my cabling inside this tiny case would prevent the radiator fan from spinning.

Nice build. Must have been a **** to get that card in there. Great job. How does she run?

The system is running great!  So quiet, yet so powerful ;-)  I have always wanted a powerful small form factor PC and now I finally have it.  The only compromise is that there isn't a Hybrid version of the Titan X Pascal...lol.

Fair warning, MSI warranty sucks big time.  No modifications whatsoever are allowed - not even switching out the radiator fan - crazy!  Also, warranty is not transferable to second owners.  And need I mention that the MSI uses a conventional blower fan, which is quite a bit louder when the card is under full load compared to the much quieter fan on the EVGA GTX1080 FTW Hybrid.  The MSI card has 5+1 VRMs, while the EVGA version has 10+2 VRMs, hence the 2 x 8-pin power connectors.  That doesn't necessarily mean higher overclocks, but is does mean more stable power to the card.  And the EVGA card is $20 cheaper.  So, you see the EVGA version is better in every way.  Just some food for thought.  I know you are impatient and I understand completely.  I just want to outline some key differences that are for me the reasons to wait for EVGA version to be back in stock.
