PasTecHi

1 thing i want to know tho. How good are the HB Bridges? Are they better than the normal bridges we use? Better SLI Stabilities? Do u really get more FPS as well as some of the reviews of these new Bridges say? If so i might have to get her one too lol

Really nice! As for the HB bridge i play 1440 165hz and didn't see difference in games i played or benchmarks going from single ribbon to HB TBH i think difference is more so 4k and vram heavy games. Also ive never had any issues with SLI to see improvements with this bridge.

The HB sli Bridge actually does give you a small performance boost in some games over normal sli bridges. The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 give massive performance boosts with the HB Bridge.

"Games running on engines with proper SLI support dont micro stutter. Ive been running SLI since gtx 285 i have super sensitive eyes even tiniest imperfection annoy crap out of me why i now have gsync. If i had microstutter i would notice it."

Your eyes are evidently not as sensitive as you may think.

Micro stutter is a FACT and it does exist to this day.  Nvidia has admitted it is an unfortunate artifact of SLI.

I have had SLI since my 660's. i dont notice any micro stutter (or problems in general) in most games. what i have noticed, either games work well with sli or they run like complete garbage. i think i have been lucky the majority of games i have played have benefited from sli. i will admit about half my games needed an update or 2 before SLI worked how it should.

Just cause 3 and Far Cry 4 were 2 games that ran like garbage in the beginning, both now run well with SLI. i will admit i did sell one of my 980ti's, but i think i may pick it up again if i can find it for $350.

my point isnt that micro stutter does not exist. my point is 1, if it does exist many people may not notice it. if you are one of the lucky to not notice it you should definitely go SLI for a bang for the buck performance gain! or the other option, it doesnt exist in the games i have played. which i guess lucky me.

Well, I'm going to stop the discussion of micro stutter as it is NOT the topic of this particular forum.  We all have different opinions about it, and that is that.

So, who was successful in pre-ordering an EVGA GTX1080 FTW Hybrid card?

Yeah, I've seen that two normal sli bridges and even 3 way sli bridges give exactly the same performance boost the HB bridge gives.

Basically it is the drivers doing it, the HB sli bridge does jack all.

I put myself on auto-notify, and the fiancee. While at work she randomly called me and said "it's up" and since I had the page open (was F5'ing through out the day) managed to get one!

I can't wait :D

I already had an FTW and I got rid of the FTW because there's still no ETA for the kit, could be a month or two, and then having to deal with trying to get one on the first wave, if you're willing to wait THAT long, you'd might as well just wait for the 1080ti or whatever is coming next--not to mention paying more overall.

The wait is getting waaaaaaaay too long for this cards release, I DEEPLY regret not buying gigabyte's waterforce the multiple times I had the chance just because of my loyalty to EVGA, DEEPLY after this error nonsense.

I feel your pain, I really do.  All of us posting here really wanted the best EVGA has to offer.  When patience runs out, then you grab the next best thing.  2 month of trying to grab the next best thing was the same story being told over and over.  30 come in at X, gone in seconds.  Then wait 2-3 weeks, another 10-20 come in, gone in seconds.  Sign up for email notify, what a joke.  By the time you read the email, another 30 was gone hours ago.  This process didnt happen one time, or 2, but watching availability daily for 2 months wears on you.  I gave in, but very glad of my decision other than a "EVGA".

Dont let the frustration get to you on the EVGA Hybrid.  I see another 2,000 lurkers at my post that have not signed into EVGA today. EVGA will not have exceptions to the few that signed in here, you have 50X waiting outside this forum.  IF EVGA is just now having a few available, you know they didnt build up any supply at all.  Same story for all these new card.  Get a few in, gone in seconds.

You have 3 choices:  1-track it daily and hope you get lucky. 2-wait another month, maybe supply will be better. 3-screw it, grab something else you like.

I feel your pain, it hurt me for over 2 months!!  I hope you are one of the lucky few :)

Believe me, this will be hit and miss for many days to come, weeks, or even months.

I have been tracking it daily, and at that specific time, I was F5ing the page, I saw that orange button turn dark green instantly before I even saw any other updates from anywhere else. There's no way, I should have been able to preorder one had it not been for that error. For whatever reason, I was not being given the option to select shipping at all, that page just didn't load no matter what I did in two different browsers.

See, that's not what pisses me off, if I just flat out missed it due to times or I was too late to the party, then FINE, but this was not the case, I don't buy it. Then I come to the forum to find out if it was just a fluke with the error, then some people are saying they got it, and even more shockingly, other people are reporting the exact same error that I saw.

So my question is, is EVGA just gonna shrug their shoulders at this and ignore the little man, the company who's notorious for great support? If this were someone like JayzTwoCents (let's say he didn't get review copies) would he get an explanation at least? What you see is what you get?

If EVGA does not support the little man, the people who all ran into this error with at least an explanation of some sort, then I'll stop supporting them from here on out as far as GPU's go. I've been buying EVGA cards since 500 series, countless recommendations to a lot of people over the years, countless times putting EVGA cards into a lot of peoples builds, but no more.

To those that did get one, just because you got one, doesn't mean you should gloss over this as well, be weary, 'cause one day, this could be you and this is the type of "support" you'll get.

What exactly is EVGA supposed to do?  Ordering a 1080 period is all about luck and nothing more.  Supply is so scarce no thanks to the horrible efficiency of the TSMC in Taiwan combined with not so nice weather in the Pacific region, there just aren't enough 1080 cards being produced.  It's really not the fault of EVGA.  Those who were lucky enough to grab one before they sold out were just plain lucky.  With several hundred (or more) people logged into the website when the pre-orders went live, it was a matter of who could click fast enough.  Most people were getting script errors because the stock had probably ran out before the checkout to cart could be completed.  This has happened not only with EVGA, but with the Amazon and Newegg websites as well.  I remember fighting this same exact battle last year when the GTX980Ti SC+ cards showed up in stock on EVGA's website.  The checkout process was glitchy I admit, but I managed to snag two cards before they sold out.  This time around, it was a different issue regarding the checkout script itself.  I was able to figure it out quickly and still probably had some luck involved with just that issue alone, but was able to snag a GTX1080 FTW Hybrid card for pre-order.
