Well I was able to get a pre-ordered card for the world's most expensive ground shipping of $31.11 or I could have done next day air for ~$172 .

Seriously....when can we expect another batch of these cards? It's kinda removed masked language that I've been waiting for this card for months, only to be greeted by an ''error'', even though I was on time for the pre-order.

Pretty frustrated right now. I clicked the email link literally as soon as it showed up in my inbox and just happened to be logged onto evga's website. I could not have went thru the ordering process faster and all I got was numerous repeat errors. I have a classified that I picked up at microcenter last week but really wanted the hybrid too.

I too received the shipping error and quickly figured out what caused it.  The item had already been placed in my cart and wouldn't allow for a second one to be added.  I wasn't trying to buy two cards, but hadn't realized that one was already in my cart.  So, I selected on the cart which showed "1".  Once I did that I was returned to my cart and was able to pre-order the card without any other issues.  No less than 5 minutes later they were sold out.

This is exactly what I did: on the exact items page, hit preorder button which took me to the cart showing the item/price, etc, I go to the next screen where it shows all of my information/shipping/etc all already setup and done with the checkbox that billing and shipping is the same as I am signed in with my account, I go to the next screen, ERROR shipping box on the top saying to go back along with the agreement box below it with a checkbox but no other options...so I go back, back to the cart, same process, same error. I click on the cart icon where it shows only 1 in my cart as added, go through it again, same error. I delete the item, re-add it, same error. I kept scrambling at this point in both firefox and chrome because I knew it would be out of stock quickly, but there were no other options or anything I could do to remedy this problem before finally being told it's no longer in stock.

I have ordered from EVGA before without problem, I have done battle previously with new products like this during the 980ti hybrid wave and when I was too slow to order or missed it entirely, I took it on the chin, it is what it is, but this time with this error? There's no way, I was on top of this before I even saw jacob's twitter or any notify emails.

I received the email alert that it was in stock. 30 minutes later I went to website to place the order... The same old "Auto-Notify" was only listed... Called the Sales hotline. The guy said that the email alert was sent out in error, and that no 1080 Hybrids were sold today. Rep said that he'd already gotten a bunch of calls on this and they were reporting the false email to their internal IT department. C'mon!

Does any one happen to know how long it typically takes Amazon to get the cards? I would really like to use my 5% cash back on this purchase.

I dunno i seem to have a 1080 hybrid listed in my order history.
So i doubt it was an error.

There's multiple people who experienced this similar error, just because some people got through and some didn't, it doesn't mean there was no error.
if it was out of stock and we were too slow, it would have stated that the way it did after trying tons of times to get through and experiencing that shipping error.

Something is definitely wrong. The rep said that their internal sales app was showing 0 units sold today... Maybe they let a few "pre-orders" go through... Maybe this was a stop-gap measure while the SKU was listed as available?

Also, if they sold-out in under 30 minutes, they didn't really have any significant stock anyways... ;|
