NDA is up. Any news on the ETA on the hybrid version?

NDA is up on the Founder Edition...

Founder edition is the only edition that was given out for reviews, and the only card out at the moment, so why would there be any other NDAs?

You think partners don't have cards built already or at a minimum (for some versions) all of the specs to include prospective release dates?  They have requirements to keep things under wraps until a given date.  They always do.

This isn't about reviews, this is about giving out any information on the cards that will be for sale very soon.

They prob do, but they're prob under different rules under their contract of employment. But what I was meaning is that when he said the NDA was up and you replied that is was only up for the F.E. when its Nvidia's only card. EVGA may have their own NDA pertaining to their cards, as do the other partners. .

They still have an obligation to NVIDIA regardless of what you may call it to only disclose information within the bounds of that obligation.  That's all semantics at this point. We are all essentially in agreement in the end.

from the video description "We're building our own GTX 1080 Hybrid. We think the thermal throttle can be circumvented with a 980 Ti Hybrid liquid cooler from EVGA, so we're tearing apart our GTX 1080 Founders Edition to see what we can do."

Should work.  Others have been discussing this and the PCB looks to be nearly identical.

As an owner of two 980 ti hybrids, I can tell you that this joker will be a monster with that cooler on it. Getting my 980 ti up to 1500 MHz and staying at 52c is very lovely.

That's good to hear. I've been holding out for months for a 1080, preferably a hybrid.

I wonder if it's safe to assume the Founders Edition will be the only 1080 on sale for at least a few weeks before any other companies are allowed to sell their own version?

EVGA, be smart and make a Hybrid option for SLI. Like two cards attached to a 240 RAD or something. :D

It's coming, with the way lower temps it will remove the clock and voltage throttling.
