Ok I read that article, and they did in fact say that they reached a stable overclock at 2323 Mhz. To that I say BULLHONKEY. I'd say something stronger but the mods would crucify me. I simply don't believe their claim. Nobody has claimed overclocks that high on straight up water. They also claimed that speeds of upwards of 2800 MHz can be had with LN2. As I recall, when K|ngp|n set the single-card record briefly (it was right before the Titan XPs came out, so it didn't last long) he "only" got his 1080 Classified up to 2594 MHz with LN2. That others are regularly hitting 2800 now I simply don't believe.

These guys will have to prove their 2323 MHz on water claim. Notice they didn't post any actual screenshots of any program showing that it was really running that fast, or that it actually successfully ran through all the various benchmarks at that speed. Until they do, I'm calling BS and simply not believing it. That's a higher OC than I have yet to see anyone else, anywhere, ever, report. These guys talk about it like this off-the-shelf watercooled Zotac hits that with ease.

True dat! Yeah I seen those shady cropped pics they used to show the benches at 2300+. Get real. It's a huge publicity stunt to get a bunch of clicks to your site.

You guys wanna see an EVGA Hydro Copper that you can actually get, today?

Oh wait, that's a 1080 SC sporting an EK full cover water block and the original EVGA backplate. And I've had the 1080 for nearly three months now, and the EK block on it for several weeks.

At some point you guys suffering with several year old cards gotta make a decision whether you're going to poop or get off the pot. If you're still using a 580 and really want a Hydro Copper, and EVGA is simply failing to sell you one, you have to decide whether you just keep waiting forever, or help yourself. While it might not be called the Hydro Copper and come like this out of the box, you are in fact able to help yourself to the final product right now, today, if you really want to.

If you're holding on because you're convinced that EVGA's eventual Hydro Copper will be a "special" 1080 that works better, then just go buy a 1080 FTW and put EK's new FTW water block on it. From what I read EK has finally released them.

I have no idea why EVGA can't seem to get this product out to you guys. It may be simply 1080 supply problems in general, or it could be that EVGA is simply working on too many different products with too few people, or who knows what the problem is. At this point we're over three months into the 1080, and you Hydro Copper fanbois have been waiting for months and months with nothing to show for it.

Either EVGA gives you some real info to tide you over, or releases a product you can actually buy, or you take the problem into your own hands and get the product that will satisfy your needs using what's actually available on the market today. Or keep waiting and missing out on games. To the guy who can't play The Division because his card is too slow, I have bad news for you: you missed the boat. The Division is dying a death through lack of new content, and only a small fraction of its playerbase is still plugging away. Don't get me wrong, I loved that game, warts and all, and I played it far, far longer than most of my friends, but even I haven't logged in to the Division in weeks. I just played it out.

What is the part number on that block and the card? Thank you

That's a evga 1080 sc card and the ek-fc 1080 water block. It's made to fit all founder editions 1080s. The evga 1080 super clock uses the same pcb as the founders edition so it will fit it.

Yeah, he got it to 2164, which I can believe if it's a good card. I can get mine to 2152, but it's not entirely stable at that speed, so I keep it at 2139. What I don't believe, and cannot believe absent some really credible proof, is that this German website really took an off-the-shelf Zotac Arctic Storm and ran it stably (or at all) at 2323 Mhz.

You are right, I need to just get a card and slap a waterblock on it.  I originally had the gtx 480 hydrocopper but i got to do the stepup and got a reference gtx 580 that I put a massive copper waterblock on.  I am hesitant to get the gtx 1080 ftw because of all the forums reporting black screen issues.  I may just hold out for a classified ek block but i have a feeling that will just be the hydrocopper edition.  One of my coworkers talked me down last night from going balls deep and just ordering the titan xp and getting the block for it.
