5.3.11 is making my WMI Provider Host service eat up anywhere from 6-10% CPU on Windows 10 64-bit. Completely reproducable. If I shutdown Precision X WMI stops eating CPU and my CPU can throttle down fully.

I have the same problem in W8.1 64-bit. "WMI Provider Host" is always eating up 3-4% CPU. When I shut down EVGA PrecisionX, it goes back to 0%. How do I fix that?

I too am having the same issue with the WMI Provider Host eating up resources (Around 3-4% as well) I have 2 GTX 970 FTW+ in SLI on an ASUS Z97A 32gb RAM and running Win10 64bit (all updated. I would like to get this fixed because when I turn off Precision X my PCH Sensor rises to 58C and when I turn it on my PCH drops to about 50C idle but keeps ramping my CPU - before update everything ran much cooler.

I also have the wmi problem, eating about 2-3% of my CPU on W10 64-bit
If anyone finds a solution please tell us.

I'm having the same problem with the WMI Provider Host and ended up at this thread. The problem is that for whatever reasons it's causing the WMI Provider Host to create tzres.dll and over again. EVGA devs should be able to figure this out pretty quick. I don't have a solution other than going back to a previous version.

Edit: Confirming that 5.3.10 is unaffected by this bug.

It's available on the evga precision download page (can't link it, forum removes it). But it's on their main site /precision if you want the url. If you're worried about losing features or introducing bugs. Here are the bug fixes from 5.3.10 to 5.3.11:
  • Adds OSD support for DX12 Mode in Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Fix OSD On/Off error when changing GPU
  • Fix software fan control in SLI mode
  • Confirm Apply changes when changing GPU
  • Update OSD exclude list
If these things do not affect you, I would revert.

Edit 2: Wow, EVGA your forum filters are crazy! I can't even say system 32 in one contiguous word without getting an error! Anyway, tzres.dll is related to time zones, and the mui file is for the language resources, just in case anyone is wondering. It should exist by default in your windows\system 32 directory (no space)

Ah cool, I take it the Hitman DX12 OSD is gave some problems? still, it's good to see some updates, I'm hoping for something like a UI overhaul that looks a bit like precision X Mobile if for no other reason than to try something new looking :)

Yea, not supported in Hitman DX12 yet, we are working on it.

Are you...working on profiles not saving? I uninstalled Precision and went back to Afterburner. Profile saving is totally broken.

Cheers, reverting worked, hopefully they can release a fix soon.

No problem. I see they're saying "The next generation of EVGA PrecisionX has arrived with EVGA Precision XOC." in the GTX 1080 ads. Afaik this only works with the GTX1080 atm. Maybe they're focusing on unifying and bringing this version to all cards, with the features exclusive to the 1080 disabled for others. Who knows, but an official response would be nice. :)

If that was really the case, you'd think they'd fix the profile saving bug. They should feel really silly at this point. I went back to Afterburner some time ago. No need to screw around with this crap.

so the only way to get this is through steam ?   that's a shame    mirror 1 seems broken sure don't want a steam client on my drives
is there some reason evga don't serve there own software ??

No idea what would make you think Precision is Steam only.

And profile saving is fixed.
