Can both of you try it in the top slot and see if you have the same speed issues, also make sure the PCIE is set to Gen3 manually in BIOS as well?
That is the only Gen3 slot that is not run by a PLX chip, I am thinking this might be a issue form that.  Either way that will be more information I can send to the engineers.

OK The Good news is I took your advice and put it in the top slot and so far it looks like the speeds have increased.  Not all are at spec but it is MUCH better.  The Bad side is Although I have the very same data on this drive as the 850 pro that was demoted to a Games drive to make room for it.. my BOOT times are as slow as a Standard HDD Often taking a full minute...  I know my board is not the right one to get MAX out of this drive but I spent the cash for even more impressive boots and this is a huge step backwards...

SO now I have M.2 in slot  1 @ 4X  and I didn't have to force 3.0 , it is set up in the bios already

GPU in Slot 2 and it tests at pcie 3.0  x 16 at load.

This build is only a year old... not excited about having to buy new CPU , 32 gigs of NEW Ram and a new MOBO so soon to get to use this M.2 to its max.  I should have done more research before I bought it...  Was WAY more impressed with the 850 pro as my OS Drive.

4Hi,
Today I received a 4xPCI-e adapter for Samsung 950Pro 256MB NVMe. After 3 tests, I cannot go over 2k GB.
Z97 Classified (1.08 BIOS), Intel 4330+HD Graphics 4600, 2x4GB DDR3 Viper 1866MHz, Win7/64bit on Kingston V300/128GB SSD, Intel 7650AC wifi on M.2/m-SATA port, Corsair VX450PSU, EVGA Supercooler.
Can be a cpu or memory issue? Or wifi adapter?
I think BIOS cannot affect the performance, the SSD is not installed for booting.
1- PE1 - 950Pro; PE2 - empty; PE3 - empty ; PE4 - empty ; PE5 - empty ; PE6 - empty (after optimisation)
2- PE1 - empty; PE2 - empty; PE3 - empty ; PE4 - empty ; PE5 - empty ; PE6 - 950Pro (after optimisation)
3- PE1 - empty; PE2 - empty; PE3 - empty ; PE4 - empty ; PE5 - empty ; PE6 - 950Pro (before optimisation)
Solutions?

LE: When I changed the SSD to the first slot, the PCI-e settings was on Auto, so I manually set Gen.3 PCI-e. Now I have an improved result.

The secret update is secret, can't tell ya

It is an updated firmware for the lane replication chip (PLX).  As far as more specific details, I am not sure, most likely to address throughput issues for non video devices.

@bschimp
Please contact me so I can send you the fix to see if it resolves the issue for you.

Hello fellow EVGA Fans!

cdc - yes, there was a (transparent to me) install of the driver by Windows 10.  In my trouble shooting, I had tried to update the Driver through the Device Manager which informed me I already had the up to date driver.  I also installed Samsung's NVM Express Driver 1.1 which did not change anything nor reflect a updated driver was installed.  I believe that that driver may be for Windows 7/8.  For me, I did not have any install problems but rather performance problems.

Dave - I sent you an email this past Saturday but alternatively, you can reach me at: abn1sgret@gmail.com

Thank you.

Found it and replied, it was my bad I missed it, hidden in pain sight.

Please let me know how the firmware update works for you.

Dave,

Ok, I did get the firmware file, thanks.

When I attempted to run the batch file, I received the error message attached.  I then ran it as Administrator and a DOS box flashed for about 1/4 second.  I then installed the M.2 back in PE3 and I am getting the same Link Speed 2.5 Gbps out of 10 Gbps and only 836 Mbps Read speeds so I am unsure if the firmware was updated.  Before I pull video cards again, I wanted to send you this update.  Perhaps the M.2 needs to be in a specific PCIe slot?  Please advise.

Has anyone installed this firmware update and if so, what are your results?

Thank you.
