What's the difference? Is it just an increased difficulty level or is there more to it than that?

From what I have read, yes, the difficulty level is greater. Simple head shots aren't so simple. The healing process has been cut back. More Legendary enemy with higher rated weapons. Good luck killing them. If you thought or think that you die to often now, in survival mode you will think that the old way is a walk in the park.

I've got my hands full on 'Normal' difficulty right now. Most games I start out on 'Easy' and then play the whole game again on the next highest level until I am at the 'Hardened' or highest level. I have seen videos where if you come across a Legendary enemy or know where one will spawn and change the difficulty to Survival Mode they'll drop a more powerful Legendary weapon for you.

I heard that also. I've been tossing that around also. That quick save button will really get a work out. LOL

Survival mode also increases your chances of more legendary npcs attacking you more periodically

I believe that the Legendary are even stronger in survival mode.

Oh, just what I need!

I can see Zuhl switching to Survival mode and engage Cait and the rest of the FO babes in some romancing only to get his butt spanked before he dies.

That's pretty much a given. Mods have a history of causing strange behavior that go back in time. It seemed that every time a patch was released or a DLC was installed, troubles started.

Should I see if my old save still works with all the mods wiped? Or would it still keep crashing?

You must have known I would try to romance anything. How can that be a spoiler?

Now that explains why Dog Meat whimpers with his tail between his legs every time someone mentions your name.

Try it and see. You have nothing to lose. Make sure you note your new character's save point just in case. Also, you might try and go back a little ways after you wipe the mods and see what happens. Make sure that you exit steam after you remove the mods.

stalinx20,

A side note. I had issues a while back and ended up removing FO 4 and then reinstalling it. I had the saves still present and I was fortunate that I didn't lose any data.

I tried that. I erased FO4 and reinstalled it, but it was still crashing, but I also still had the mods installed. Once I erased the mods, and reinstalled the game, it went away, but I tested it with a new character. I will see what happens if I load my existing character.

I was busy hunting for the Mechanist when I had to switch to my Windows 10 backup PC and the Steam Cloud didn't have my progress saved. I had to shut my main PC down due to a fire emergency. LOL   My Swiftech Maelstrom V2 burst into flames right where the wires go into the pump.

Was the damage extensive?

It damaged my thumb pretty bad as I was tring to pull the burning wires out of the case. LOL  The Swiftech pump is toast, literally.

I've been waiting two days now for a response from Swiftech. Their customer service leaves much to be desired. The wiring on Swiftech pumps short out quite frequently where they enter the housing.
