I also found a similar suit and the hotel location sounds familiar as I seem to recall a bunch of raiders around.  But this armor wasn't raider armor, it was all T-45.  I jumped in it and took it home. Got tired of seeing it as "stolen property" considering it's previous owners had had their brains splattered liberally all over the ground.  So I cheated a little bit.  I used a console command to make it not stolen.

Did you try and sell it before you used the commands?

Sell my power armor and lose my fully accredited Pack Rats of the Commonwealth membership card and complimentary tea set??!!  Absolutely not!

ROTFLMAO

My sincere apologies oh Great King Pack Rat of the Commonwealth Dukman. LOL

I noticed that some items on my search list were shimmering along with the cabinet doors where the goodies I needed were stored. Maybe it's by design to alert me to an item's location or it's a glitch.

I've never seen that before. Is what you describe repeatable?

It's repeatable and apparently a new feature built into the last patch. Any items on my 'needed' list glow a little bit. I think it was Borderlands 2 where items of interest glowed too. I like it. I like being able to spot the settlers that aren't assigned to a task. I assigned a settler to a Brahmin and made them part of a supply line. Maybe I should have assigned more settlers to that Brahmin for guards but didn't know if I could so I didn't try. Maybe I'd better send a team of settlers to protect my goodies from Raiders next time.

I'll have to keep that in mind the next time I set a "be on the look out" for some material.

I do like the settler assignment notification. Now I know what I can't remember. LOL

All settlers look alike to me so being able to see who isn't assigned to anything is a plus for me. I used to just pick someone and assign him or her to a chore or a bed. Now I know who is loafing and slacking and put them to work. My settlements are NOT a wellfare state. If you don't work you don't eat so get a move on and do some work for me!

Dukman,
Per your other post in another thread regarding the bullet actions pre and post latest update. You could see the bullets when they hit sand, water or steel pre new update. At least I could.

I have a quick stupid question. I see many YouTube videos where a buch of caps come popping out of the victim after a kill. Is this a perk that needs to be unlocked or is it just because they are playing on a console?

It is a perk.

I'll have to try that next. I thought I did pick it once but the flying caps must come at a higher level. What else can I say except that I am easily amused and like when those caps go flying around. LOL

I was wondering that as well.

Personally I think that would get annoying really quick.   And I have yet to spend any caps on anything.  I have enough crap stored that I can straight up trade enough of it for what I need.  Usually what I get from merchants is ammo that I have a hard time finding.  (.308 and shotgun shells) and rarer crafting materials.   But the merchants so far haven't had anything that I just have to have.   I can almost always build what I need or want from stuff I looted.

I have that problem too. The more settlers the more questions if they were assigned or not.

"My settlements are NOT a wellfare state."

Are you running for political office?

There is a perk that does just that but now you have to decide where (area wise) to eradicate them. By this I mean terrain wise. Try and find a weapon in tall grass and that generally (for me) becomes a lost weapon. Gold coins are a lot smaller so bring your metal detector.
