The Synths carry plain old Institute Laser Pistols. I have quite a few of those Gamma Pistols too but they're impossible to aim and only affect humans. I'm told there is another Zeta weapon in the Parsons State Insane Asylum so I am guessing there will be a 'Mothership' quest added at a later date. I tried adding a scope to the Alien Blaster but it makes it slower to aim and still isn't as good as the Blaster in Fallout 3.

I remember that weapon. You are right, it did have a lot of power. My problem was finding ammo for it. It was very hard to come by (almost impossible) so I didn't carry it.

I am glad to see Bethesda do away with the repair system that was in FO 3. Now it's just the ammo, or more to the point the lack of it that limits an items usage........... so far anyway.

I don't understand why I have to keep going back to these same settlements over and over again because of Raider problems. I have constructed numerous machine gun turrets at each settlement and they are all functioning proplerly. A Raider shouldn't be able to get anywhere near these settlements. Besides that, Cait doesn't seem to like anything I do.

I was having that problem also. I failed one time because I didn't show up in time. I was in the middle of a battle with some ghouls. Haven't been called recently for assistance knock on would.

I think your Cait problem has something to do with Bruce. LOL

I missed one of those rescues too but arrived in time for others. The notice about a settlement being attacked only flashes in the upper left corner for a few seconds. If I'm in battle I don't see it and can't fast travel there anyway when enemies are nearby. I don't remember where the settlement was at but I remember getting the notice about it failing. I give every settlement gun turrets so there shouldn't be a problem unless they're too stupid to stay behind them. LOL

The "Nuclear" launching center netted me quite a bit of loot. I have a lot of different customized weapons and the X01 armor to go with my T60E's...

Nuclear launching center? Hmm guess I havent found that one yet. I've been searching in and around the Glowing Sea but not a lot of loot... just death.

Yeah.

It is really hard to see in the glowing see. What I did was go all the way to the point of the game telling me I can not go that way, and walked the imaginary fence line. My companion actually said "Is that an ancient pyramid?"  and I had to look around and found it. There are also four pillars that come out of the ground and is one of the exits from the nuclear launching faclity, but you cannot get back up to it because of the broken railing.

There is a plane, a church (Almost all underground) a cave with some loot that I found after following a signal that I thought would end up in the covered parking garage (Elevator still works outside). I killed a LOT of animals/scorpions to get the loot.

I just see inconsistency with the crafting and item mechanics. There is a repair system for power armor but nothing else and there is no crafting of ammo. Only half the stuff out there has salvage information. Everything should be salvageable but isn't. Dog armor shows no resist stats. Your AI partners tare up the heck out of power armor. They almost have to be constantly repaired. Shops are selling stuff that are priced at 15k caps but only have 300 caps on them. Those design decisions are odd to me. I'm not letting those things get too much in the way of my exploration though.

My AI not only tears up the Power Armor I give her but destroys it totally. By the time we get back to Sanctuary there isn't anything left to repair. I have to go find a Raider, kill him, and steal his Power Armor parts. If I try to leave Sanctuary without repairing Cait's armor she pitches a royal fit about "And what am I supposed to wear".

My AI partner will unequip pieces before totally destroyed. I just find the pieces with really low durability in her inventory. I take the pieces and repair them and put them back on.

I agree with that.

"Dog armor shows no resist stats.

I noticed that also. I ran across some of that and was going to equip that on Dog Meat, but he can't be killed and that would be added carry weight.

I noticed that about the shops also. Maybe it was Bethesda's way to encourage the building of shops (emporiums) in the settlements.

Thanks, I'll have to take a look. When I go to 'trade' with Cait so I can give her more ammo I notice she has a corset in her apparel. I am sorely tempted to see of I can take it away from her. LOL
