How do you go at war with a faction?

Apparently it is pretty easy to be at war with The Railroad if you get Desdemona upset. I could take them on and win against them hands down but I am afraid of losing Deacon as a companion. I have him running supplies right now and can hook up with him again later. Piper is getting on my nerves. She is always walking into my line of fire and I usually end up damaging her Power Armor. I think it's time to give MacReady a shot at least until I get my special 'perk' from him. Preston still wants to have that 'Special liitle talk' with me and I have no idea where he is going with it but I get scared at seeing that 'Romance' option in the dialogue menu in bright red letters. IDK what romancing Preston is going to do for me besides make me want to puke. Maybe I'll see what happens later and hope I don't lose a perfectly good lunch. LOL

You haven't done that yet? I told you to do that. You'll like him. Totally laid back. He might try and demand you give him a cigarette, but it's not like he's a total buzz killer and gets all angry because you took on a quest. I kicked preston over at the Island. I can say that Preston doesn't really want to "romance" me. Maybe he sees that i'm already taken by Cait. I should send her over to the Island; with her shotgun skillz she doesn't will keep the place well kept.
 
Giving Cait an automatic shotgun sounds so "MIND BLOWING"

I kept giving him cartons of ciggs and he always tried to bum some more from me. Talk about a chain-smoker!

Interesting tutorial on the 'Mods' option in the Fallout 4 menu. I know I need to try out that Mini Nuke Minigun. LOL
 

I watched the video and after he unloaded those mini nukes down range I thought Red Rocket was gone. LOL

You need to have 'beta' enabled until the official release of this patch. I going for it, beta or not.

 

 A rookie with a mini nuke gun. What could go wrong? Two rookies with mini nuke guns. Say goodbye to the neighborhood.

WOW... I'm disappointed. I mean, I should have expected that they would this, but I'm totally disgruntled by it. No Fast travel in survival mode??? LOL. Talk about serious overkill.  I guess they weren't kidding when they said they like to mess something up when it's not broken. "Hey, let's do this and see if the people like it!" No, I don't like it, I want it back the way it was. lol
 
You can't revert back to another difficulty once you set it to survival. If you do, you lost the ability to go back to survival mode. you have to eat and drink to stay in good condition. And the ammo adds weight. Guess they were not joking. . .
 

I think I am going to pass on this and wait until I get to a lot higher level. Who knows, they may change it again.

To compromise, for now, I went to very hard, and just got my butt kicked in a gun fight by a single raider with a laser pistol. So, this will suffice. I am no tank, but I can dish out a lot of damage, more like a glass cannon lol.

Not if a single raider kills you first. LOL

I installed the Mini Nuke Mini-Gun mod yesterday and it works great. It will come in handy for Defending the Castle. There is an Alien Rifle too. I might try that next and mod it out for sniping.

It's raining nukes, and bombs going off. The ultimate exploitation, enough to put some heat onto the computer?!

You can chuck those Mini Nukes a long long way too. I did notice that when I make a 'Save' now it has a (M) prefix in front of it. I hope I can still use that Save to Load a previous spot in the game if I remove the mod.

As cheesy as this will sound, I still have to say it. Makes me think of that song  "It's raining men" and change it to "It's raining nukes"

 
And another settlement bites the dust. What's worse, 2 rookies with mini nuke guns or 2 companions with the same weapons? LOL

I rubbed out some Raider for Desdemona and after the mission I decided to walk back instead of quick travelling and I suddenly got a message saying I was now at war with the Railroad for not reporting back to Desdemona. I reloaded a save and continued by fast travelling to the Railroad HQ. I don't think I'll be doing any more missions for them since it looks like somewhere along the line I'll be at war with them anyway.

 
I'll keep that in mind. I have many times in the past done missions for the RR and never ran across that before. I do know when doing missions for the BOS, the ones with the kids training seem to be timed and will fail you. I had to reload a saved game to beat it.
