Okay had to skip past a bunch of posts because you guys are farther into the story than I am, despite the length of time I've been playing this.
One thing I will hand to Bethesda, they can make it difficult to stay on task. Im constantly saying that I intend to pursue the story line, only to get side tracked by somehing else entirely. This time it's more settlement building. Or to be more specific it's building my workshop/storage building in Sanctuary.
As for Dogmeat, he has his own personality. Just watch him when your kicking around a bit, that's when it'll show up. And despite his obvious limitations in combat, it is kind of nice to not have someone chattering on and on and on about the same old things over and over.
@Whiskers, Stalin and Zuhl
If you are curious about a mod or mods, let me know which one(s). I'm currently running a total of 90 mods. So chances are Im probably already using it and can tell you about stability. Many of the mods Im running aren't affected by the updates and patches while others are. Yes, if you get one of those mods it will require you to update the mod itself after the game is changed, but if you use a mod manager, it's not that big of a deal. And it's only really the big mods that need updating. Alot of your others are simply "set it and forget it" as they tend to affect things that patches don't need to fix.
I personally don't hesitate much when it comes to running mods in a game and I accept the risks and frustrations of doing so. Personally, I think it takes mods to fix all the stupid crap that Bethesda did or didn't do to the game.
What mods are your using for visuals/ graphics?
I've been looking at the Enhanced Color Correction mod. I'm curious to know if the visual/ graphics mod are worth it? I personally feel that the vanilla Fallout 4 looks pretty awesome at 1440p. But then again I thought Skyrim couldn't look any better and boy was I wrong!
Also, any recommendations on weather mods? Thanks.
I'll start with the weather mods.
True Storms - It increases the weather frequency and also adds stuff like fog. Nothing like stumbling through downtown Boston at night in the fog.
Rain - Improves the overall look of the rainstorms. Can possibly conflict with True Storms. Load True Storms first and then Rain and allow Rain to overwrite files.
As for the visuals, Im running a bunch of texture mods.
A Little Bit of Green - Makes things green and adds leaves to the trees.
Commonwealth HQ Landscape Overhaul: It looks like that mod is no longer on the Nexus.
Enhanced Blood Textures - Better blood spatter and spray
Eyewear and Mask Retexture - Makes those items look so much better.
Fallout Texture Overhaul: Power Armors - Adds a more realistic/textured look to the power amors.
Fallout 4 Seasons: Summer - In conjuction with A Touch of Green. Makes everything nice and green. But there is also Spring, Fall and Winter as well. But since I hate snow, winter is out.
Faraway Area Reform - Increases the amount of visible objects/buildings at distance.
Langleys HD Textures Workshop
Optimized Vanilla Textures
Piper Face Retexture: Freckles - Makes Piper look even better.
Raider Overhaul WIP + 4K Textures: 2 Separate files. - Totally changes up the look of the armor that the raiders are wearing and can add additional armors with the use of the Armorsmith Mod.
Vivid Fallout: Landscape
Vivid Fallout: Trees
WET - Improves the look of water.
Im not running and ENB settings yet. Nor did I in Skyrim. I just didn't want the hassle of mucking about with the files that much.
I didn't know about the Enhanced Color Correction Mod, but just downloaded it. So I can check back in and let you know what I think.
@Stalin - I'm running Craftable Ammo with no issues. It looks like you can make just about every ammo type in the game. Haven't done so because like I said, Ive got ammo coming out of my ears. (Like 10k fusion cells at the moment)
